I have a question but didn't know where to post it. It wasn't about Disney.....anyway, I have never used my computers CD-rewritable so I thought I would try it tonight. I had a CD-R and copied one song onto it....did I just screw up? It says it's full. I went to copy more (so I could put a lot of my favs on one cd) but it won't let me. Is there a way to erase and start over or is that CD ruined. :brick:

I guess the good thing is, I bought the cd at the $ store so only paid a dollar for it. And I did get a song I really like on it. So basically, a dollar for a song. I need to be careful the next time I guess. Do they have any CD that will let you erase and start again if you screw up like I did?

Look for cd-rw's they let you erase and reburn as much as you need. However, a lot of players won't recognize it as a music cd.

Although anything built within the last year should.

Also, you might want to look into buying disks in spindles instead of individually. You can get them cheap like that (as low as $11-$15 for 50) so you can play around more and make mistakes. :)

How would I find out if mine would or not? It is a Sony Vaio IntelPentium 4 but I don't know when it was made. When we bought it, it had Windows XP, and we just got it last October. Is that what you meant?

Also, I thought I would go to Sams Club and see about buying some. Should I try to find the ones that say cd-rw's then?

Thanks,
Paula

I use CD-RW's and they work with ALL my CD players even my stereo that I purchased back in the early 90's. Just make sure when you put the CD in you format it for music and not data. If you have Windows, as soon as you put the CD in a program should come on so you can format it, then it will let you select files. It makes burning music CD's very easy. :)

And Mr.P is very right you can basically buy CD's in bulk for very good prices. I got about 500 for like $25 at curcuit city...they were however on sale but you can find good deals pretty much anywhere. :)

It all pays off too because I'll burn custom CD's for kids at school and I charge 10 bucks for 20 songs. :D Who needs to work!! I hope none of you are in the FBI or something...it's not illegal I swear. :lookaroun

You can make music CD's with any RW's ...like I said you just need to format the disc correctly. Look through your PC and check for a program called Easy CD Creator or something along those lines...it allows you to format for music.

Well, actually it depends on teh CD player...my car cd player won't play cd-rw's but my home stereo will.

I think it has to have a multi-read laser on it.

I was going to stop by Wal-Mart or Sam's club today and buy a package of CD (or maybe the CD-RW), but Both of our stupid vehicles broke down. First my car, then when hubby came to pick me up, the truck  I am NOT having a good day. And all of this Right before vacation (when I need my money). Anyway, hopefully I'll get some tomorrow. I may be asking more questions before I record this time. I don't want to waste another CD.
