Hi all, It’s been awhile since I’ve stayed at CB. Can someone tell me what the differences are between the Standard View rooms, the Preferred rooms and the Pirate rooms as far as which have been remodeled and which are the closest to the skyliner stations?
Thanks!

The preferred rooms are between Old Port Royale and the Riviera, they are very convenient to the restaurants and pool but pretty far from the skyliner, the pirate rooms are furthest from the restaurants and main pool but right across the lake from the skyliner station. The standard view rooms could be any of the remaining rooms.

We went in November and were in Jamaica which is kind of in the middle of both, a bit of a trek across the bridge to Old Port Royale and a bit of a trek to the skyliner but not horribly far from either.

I‘m not sure about the latest refurbs but our room in Jamaica and my brothers families preferred room looked nearly identical, the only difference is our room slept 5 so it had a fold down murphy bed and his didn’t.

As far as I'm aware, all Standard and Preferred rooms have been refurbed. It's only Pirate rooms which haven't, due to the theming. They only have double beds, where the Standard/Preferred rooms now have queen beds.

Do you know if the preferred rooms are only in Martinique up near the Riviera, or do they still include some of the rooms in Barbados? We are taking a non-DVC holiday and my wife booked Preferred at the CBR, but we never really thought about their proximity, or lack thereof, to the Skyliner. It's a quick visit so we didn't really do a lot of research in advance. 😄

I got a preferred room there in May and was in Barbados. It wasn’t a bad walk to the skyliner at all.

Thanks for the info. I've read some complaints about the Preferred rooms being too far from the Skyliner hubs, but then I looked at the resort maps and the walk looked really easy from both villages.

Definitely looking forward to the CBR. Never been there before, and this will be my first non-resort loop stay since maybe 1997, but it looks really nice.

I’ve stayed there twice and both times I was in Barbados. It’s a huge resort so I could see hating some of the villages farther away but I thought we were in a good spot. It was a reasonable distance to both the skyliner station and main building.

We just finished up a week-long stay in a preferred room in building 25 of Martinique. It was a 1 or 2 minute walk to Old Port Royale, and about a 5 minute walk to the Riviera Skyliner station.

The room was nothing exceptional, with only minor trim differences between it and the pre-refurb rooms in other moderates like Coronado and Port Orleans Riverside. The resort was very busy when we were there, with the crowds in Centertown Market reminding me of those at the quick service restaurant in Pop Century. The scent in the lobby at Old Port Royale, though, was fantastic.

If you eat outside at Centertown Market and you see the blackbird who is missing a foot, say "Hi" to Barnaby for us.
