CBR Question

When we have stayed at the Caribbean Beach Resort, we have always stayed in building 52 of Aruba. For our upcoming trip I have requested building 25 in Martinique. I like to have my room on the second floor, so can anyone that has stayed there before tell me if rooms 2556 or 2557 are on the second floor.

Just request a room on the second floor; they're all the same and Martinique is way close to OPR (we prefer Martinique 26).

I'm all set on the preferred room, I would just like to have a second story room that has a lake view. That's why I was wondering if the the rooms (2556 and 2557) were on the second floor of building 25.

They *should* be. I know that the layouts of the buildings are typically very similar, and I know that Aruba 5256 and 5257 are both on the second floor of the Aruba 52 building, (those are our favorite two rooms wit a view at Caribbean Beach)

I believe the numbering at CBR (and I believe also for the Aligator Bayou buildings at Riverside, because their design is the same as CBR's buildings) is that xx01-xx32 are on the first floor, and xx33-xx64 are on the second floor.

Let me advise you to make your request as a second floor room in Martinique 25 (or in any other preferred location building) rather than list specific room numbers.

WHY?

Glad you asked! If you list a few room numbers, and those rooms aren't available during your dates, there's no way for the room assigner to know why you requested those rooms. As a result, since that very specific request request can't be granted, they have no other info to go on and thus you'll be given whatever preferred location room they have available.

Request your general wants and you'll be much more likely to get what you want. Get too specific and you may strike out. I've gotten this advice from several WDW resorts CMs over the years.

And by the way, all of Martinique is not preferred location. At CBR, preferred location is three of the six buildings in Martinique (24-25-26) and each of the three buildings in Trinidad North (31-32-33). Buildings 21-22-23 in Martinique are NOT preferred location rooms.

Thanks, I'll keep that in mind. I haven't asked for a specific room and now I won't.
