CBR or Shades of Green

I have reservations for Caribbean Beach Resort for 4 nights, total cost with tax is $440 (military special). Shades of Green says they can now book me (was previously unavailable) for $475 + $5 day for parking.

My wife likes the internet views of CBR and all the rooms will be updated in the Nemo look. I know Shades of Green has nice large rooms which would be more comfortable as we will have a 15yr old girl and 13yr old boy.

We have been undecided on the dining plan although it seems to be a good deal as my kids eat both quality and quantity. I don't think we can get the dining plan with Shades of Green.

What to do...what to do? Any advice from anyone who has done both?

Money is not a huge factor - just trying to keep it reasonable.

Shades of Green is excellent.

You have better parking access
You have dedicated buses
You have good sized rooms that are more then adaquate
You have reasonably priced food
You have a more intimate atmosphere that is not slammed and overly crowded (at least the times we've been there)

What you will not get is
- Disney themed
- fancy pool deck
- big food court

We like the SOG for its location (you can walk to TTC if you wanted.. and there are golf cart shuttles), buses, seclusion, and prices.

If you just want a hotel that does what it should and is affordable.. SOG is perfect. If you want that Disney spin even back in your rooms, SOG will be a bit disappointing for you.

Was at SoG last Sept and have been at the CBR on 2 previous vacations. Go for CBR. Shades of green is nice but did not filter the swamp water smell out of the water. Taking a shower and brushing your teeth is bad. There is the possibility to get a room stuck a mile away from the front where the buses run. By the end of the day and the end of the trip i was upset about the distance we had to walk through the corridors. I can see why Disney sold this resort, to get rid of an old poorly laid out hotel.

CBR the rooms are smaller but how much time are you planning on staying in your room? There is not enough military benefit to staying at the SoG so keeping the Disney theme at a Disney resort is worth it if its cheaper.
