Category 7 Verandahs on the Cruise Line?

Has anyone seen or stayed in the category 7 (Deluxe Stateroom w/ Navigators Verandah) on the Magic or Wonder? We are trying to figure out what they mean by "enclosed private verandah, most with nautical touches". Does this mean we won't be able to see out or not get any fresh air? We stayed in a Category 6 last time and loved the added space of the verandah.. Is this change worth the saved expense??

A Veranda is a porch or balcony type thing. This means you will probably have your own private balcony from your stateroom. That room sounds incredible, probably costing a small fortune too.

My husband and I stayed in the Cat 7 last time we went on the disney cruise. We loved it. It is a balcony that has a giant porthole you can look out over the ocean. It was great. I liked that it wasn't so open, it felt more private. It had a little table and two bences. Ours had a nautical map on the balcony. We took the 7 day eastern cruise on the magic. We loved it. We spent a lot of time in the room. It was nice to bring back lunch to the room and sit and eat on the balcony and listen to the ocean and breathe that wonderful ocean fresh smell. Salty:lol: We saw a dolphin. We definately liked the extra saving from the cat 6 to the cat 7. We are going again in Sept. and will be getting the Cat 7. I thought that the room was just like the Cat 6 except for the balcony being more enclosed. It made me feel safer. My husband likes to lean out and get video of the waves hitting the ship. :hammer: He is nuts! I would most definately pick it over the cat 6 for the money saved.:animwink: Wasn't the separate tub and toilet just the best!!!!!!:sohappy: I loved having two sinks in separte areas. Have a great time.

Thanks so much disneyqueen! Your information was very helpful. We went on the cruise last October and although we had booked a 9, had been upgraded to a 6 and were thrilled to have the added space of the balcony! Now we feel like we could never do without it again! We are however, unsure of the expense, as there is a serious difference between a cat. 9 and a cat. 6.. We thought the 7 would be a bit more affordable, but wanted to be sure it wasn't entirely enclosed!

Last October was our first cruise ever, and we were on the Wonder and loved it! Aside from some rough seas and the first night of seasickness, it was an incredible time and we are dying to go again! And yes - I loved the split bathrooms! It made it so much easier for us to get ready with the added space!

I loved everything about the cruise, with the exception of Nassau but that was beyond Disney's control. We just decided we would stay onboard next time and not worry about it! Everything else was incredible!!!

Thanks again for the info and have a great time in Sept!

We were just there. I LOVED the Nav Veranda. Plenty of room, great view, but cheaper then a full veranda. Here is a pic from our veranda ( Castaway Cay). I have more pics of the room at home. Ill send em to ya after work.

Moonchild, that looks like the room I had on the Magic when I went in July ´99. On top of that couch -that becomes a bed- there was one bed that came out from the ceiling -we thought it was very well hidden!-. That room could easily be for 4 persons.

My friend and I LOVED the balcony. We spent most of the time there and made friends with the "neighbors" around us! Since our luggage was misplaced we went out and asked everybody around in theri balconies, then everytime we went out, we all waved to each other!

We were upgraded to that room. I am not sure if we were on floor 7 or 8 though. I took a pic of Castaway that looks like from the same spot! lol
One night we had full moon and we just sat there until the wee hours.... beautiful! Another time it rained just a few meters from the boat and we didn´t get wet. It was also a nice thing to see.

Just out of curiosity, how much aproximately a room like this costs now? Let´s say for the weekend cruise...

....speaking of the bathrooms and toilets.... didn´t you jump the first time you heard the toilet flush? :animwink:

You know, I haven't talked to a single person who has liked Nassau. I guess we're just the ones who b**** about it.

Anyway, DW and I are really looking forward to our Western Caribbean cruise in November. :)

IMHO, the best part of Nassau is Paradise Island, where the Atlantis hotel is.

The town is just a typical island, wooden houses, not so bad though... :animwink:

My mom and I went to nassau a few years ago on Carnival and we saw a guy going to the bathroom in the middle of the street. We thought it was funny, but we started walking faster trying to get away from him. We saw a tower from the ship and thought thats not far, lets walk there. We were wrong. We almost got killed by cars flying thru the street. But we had a great view of the whole island. The disney ships are so much better than the other cruise lines. :sohappy:

The toilets are scary. They could suck a small child down them if your not careful.

I agree, i found Nassau dirty and gritty. Atlantis (Paradise Island) was pretty cool. I would like to go back there only. We, didn't have a veranda, but we had one huge porthole. Large enough to sit in.
