As a character greeter I have had many memorable moments. Some are listed at my website at http://ncalvert.tripod.com ... However my favorite moments are the nights I got to walk backstage and see the fireworks going off at MK. Also being able to help out many MANY special children such as gve Kids the World to be able to see their favorite characters and helping them not to be scared. I'll get into more detail later, but I want to hear about everyone else!

I had a lot of magical moments to remember while I was a cast member, but there is one that comes to my mind now, because it surprised me a lot. I think I have already said it here, but a long time ago, so I will tell it again... hehe

I was working as an ambassador for Mexico and did a tour of the Mexican Pavillion to a family from D.C. It turns out that it was the daughter´s bday the next day, so when I finished with them, I spoke to my manager and sent her a little piñata with a Donald Duck plush and a signed bday card from my friend Donald to her hotel room.
I didn´t hear from them again, but two days later, I was with some friends, at night, walking to Jellyrolls on the Boardwalk, and when we passed by Beaches and Cream, I hear this woman yell "Maria!" so I turned and it was the mother of the girl, who was sitting there and recognized me -without my costume- and thanked me a lot for making her girl´s day. She said she was so happy, she was crying and kept drawing thank you notes to me. I almost cried! She did make MY day! :)

While on my sweet 16 trip a TON of CM's said "happy birthday" or something to that effect including one who made jokes b/c there was a lady behind me who also had a birthday

but the most magical moment was when a nice older tomorrowland CM asked if it was my birthday, after saying yes he told me i could pick out any pin on his lanyard and have it...i picked a winking mickey...that man was SO wonderful it made my birthday extra magical.

hehe... thanks Grizz. :animwink:

I remember another time that I was also walking around the promenade, when I saw this woman with her 3 year old daughter. We danced with the Junkanoo Bus by the African Outpost, then met them again at the Mexican Pavillion while the Three Kings were around. This girl was so attached to me, she wouldn´t let me go all day....her mom had to spend a good while trying to keep going around WSC and she wouldn´t let me go, so I had to walk for a while with them, but since I couldn´t go inside other countries in my Mexican costume, I managed to disappear from her sight for a while. So anyways, she found me again at Mexico and she immediately jumped to me and wanted to me to hold her while we toured the pavillion, I did the boatride with them, listened to the mariachi and then had our picture taken with the storytellers. By the time they left, believe me, my arms were in pain! She was kinda heavy...
A month later, I received an envelope through Guest Relations and the International Prgrams office, with a big picture of me holding the girl with the Three Kings and a nice letter from the mom thanking me for making her little one´s day. I had it on my wall during the time I lived there and still have it here at home. It was very nice of her to send it to me. :)

I also had two pen-pals while I was working there, the kids of one of my "families of the day", and I enjoyed writing to them every once in a while with news from the park. :)

Almost had my son in the the Magic Kingdom Main Street Gallery!!!

To make a long story short, at the end of my seventh month, I started having many premature labor pains. I started to have contractions and I worked with all men all 50 and up. One who has been at Disney since the park opened.

Well. they were more worked up than me. I actually can say that I probably am the only person that has been in the backroom of the Gallery with my feet up on a chair having contractions with bubble wrap as a pillow under my head. Waiting for our manager to call us back.

Needless to say my husband got permission to drive back stage to get me. Went to Celebration Hospital and they gave me meds to stop labor.

Wasn't allow back to work till after my son was born. 3 weeks earlier than do.

Most embarrassing and most memoriable for sure.

my memorable.. which isnt as touching as all of these... but on star tours as the guy is checking the seat belts, he looked up at me and my bro and goes, "you 2, do not be alarmed... you are wearing the same shirts...may the force be with you 2!" and left.. funniest thing ever in my life, I felt soo popular and special as everyone from the ride was talking and laughing with us:lol:
