I didn't want to take the "How many days. . . " thread too far off-topic so I'm answering Chuck's question here.

Thanks Chuck, did not know that. I knew that you got to board first; any other perks I should know about.

So this is pretty much a complete list of benefits for each level of Castaway Club membership. My favorite benefit of being Platinum is the free meal at Palo. We'll actually get TWO free meals next time, because we're doing a 4-night and 3-night back-to-back.

I'm also looking forward to the early online booking feature because we'll be reserving a cabana for the first time. (Sorry to all the Gold and Silver folks. I know the Platinums always grab these before you get a shot.)

Quick story about Palo. As a Platinum member, I get a free meal. But for some reason, by the time I made final payment, the online reservation system didn't have any availability for Palo. I wasn't worried, because I know that they hold back several slots each day for people who book onboard. So on our embarkation day, I went up to Palo to make my reservation. I told the woman at the reception desk my name and she said, "Ah, yes, Mr. Elias. I was expecting to see you." She must have a list of Platinum guests ahead of time. Totally caught me off-guard, though. I thought it was pretty funny.

• Use of exclusive Castaway Club check-in line at embarkation

Gold

• Available with five to nine completed sailings
• Receive all Silver perks
• Ability to reserve activities 105 days prior to sailing
• Early booking for new itineraries two days before general public
• Access to an exclusive Castaway Club reception on sailings of eight nights or longer
• 10 percent off select merchandise purchased onboard

Platinum

• Available with 10 or more completed sailings
• Receive all Gold perks
• Ability to reserve activities 120 days prior to sailing
• Early booking for new itineraries three days before general public
• Priority check-in and boarding
• Complimentary dinner at Palo

(Used to be 20% discount on merchandise when you spent $100, but that went away a few years ago )

I thought the Castaway Reception went away unless the cruise was 8-nights or longer.

That's wild you have had issues getting a cabana. They always seems to be open when we check-in.

Gold with 8, 9 and 10 booked.

Yes, I also read that. Apparently, the list that I copied and pasted hadn't been updated. Sorry about that. I've edited the post to make it accurate.

I've actually never tried to book one. This will be our first time getting one. But from the comments that I've read on this forum, it seemed like they were scooped up before most people got a chance at them.
