I know there are a few cast members or former cast members here. I would like to know how it is to work for Disney. Also how is the pay, do they give you a place to live, ext.. I would love nothing more then to work at Disney World in a few years but if the pay isn't much I might just do the WDWCP. Thanks. :)

working for Disney is fun, PROVIDED that you work in a relatively small department. Right now I work in the largest department in the Company, and I am ready to transfer out.

they only give you a place to live, if they recruit you from your home area (ie. College Program, International Program, special recruitment).

the pay SUCKS! I'll just leave it at that.

These are just my opinions, but here goes. Working for Disney really comes down to a lot of the same things as any other job. The biggest difference is that you really do get to make magic. You can make someone have a great vacation and really make people happy.

The pay at WDW is competitive and fair for FL. I don't know where you are currently living, but chances are the cost of living in FL is lower than where ever you are now. FL has among the lowest Cost of Living Index's in the country. I am from the Boston area and I was going crazy!

I, personally, would recommend that you do the College Program first. This way you can get first hand experience of what it is like to live in FL and work at WDW. If you just move down there and get a job and dislike it, then what do you do? Just my thoughts. I would check out the College Program first. If you have any CP questions at all I would be more than happy to try and answer them for you. It is truly the experience of a lifetime. Best of luck to you in whatever you decide to do!

Yes. I've read many articals on the internet about the program but everytime I read another one I find that the chances of getting excepted are slim. Is there anyway you can increase your chances of getting into the program?

There really isn't anything you can do to increase your chances of getting in to the program. If the Recruiters feel that you are a good candidate that belongs in the Program they will pick you. The best advice I can give you is to be as well informed as you can about the Program and what it is and what it offers. And BE CAREFUL about what you read on the internet about the Program. A lot of it is old and out of date info. The Program had changed a lot in the last couple of years. For the best info the best thing you can do is access www.wdwcollegeprogram.com. That is is the official site and it can give you the best info.

about the only thing that may increase your chances are previous work experience with the Disney Co (TDS, DL, WDW, etc) or a close relative working in a management capacity there (but be advised, that although it may increase your chances, there's no way you'll work in the same dept. your family can't be your boss)
