Cast Member's Secret Pin Stash?

I walked up to a cast member because I wanted to see what pins she had to trade. She saw one of the nicer ones I was wearing, and asked if I would be willing to trade it if she showed me some "better" pins (and she asked me to be quick about it because she didn't want any little kids to see them). In the end it worked out nicely for me, because I got a pin that I had been looking for.

How often does this kind of thing happen?

It was likely that that CM is a pin trader themself and have a stash of their own pins in their pocket if they find something they'd personally like. We're not really supposed to do it but the managers generally don't care as long as its done descretely.

Thanks, that's what I figured. I was a little confused because I talked to another CM who said that they aren't supposed to personally trade while working.
