Cast Member Restricted Re-Hire? Now Hired.

I just accepted a full time position at WDW, however my interview did not start off too well. I was a college program participant in 2009 and had poor attendance. There are no excuses, I was 19 and decided to have fun with my roommates and made poor choices. I almost didn't receive the job I was just offered a couple days ago, the recruiter showed me my record and I had many marks for my poor attendance. She said I was on a restricted hire and if I ever become a restricted hire again I would be done for good as a no re-hire. My question is, does my status become lifted since I am rehired and if I ever have to leave WDW but do so on good terms with a proper notice will that restricted hire still be on my record? Is my record tainted forever or do I have the chance to redeem myself? I feel so disappointed and embarrassed but want to work my way up through the company, will my record always reflect negatively?

Thanks,

I'd say thank your lucky stars you are getting the job even on a restricted status. I wouldn't worry about anything but doing the best job you can, being EARLY everyday and making people forget about your previous issues. At the age of 23, if you are looking for a career in Disney, you have no excuses for the attendance issues. You have a second chance sounds to me, make the most of it

Just sayin

The history doesn't go away... but the status' can change. But things like 'no rehire' are difficult to get around.. and basically impossible if just hiring in for non-skill jobs. If you are temporarily blocked or not tends to expire, but your history itself does not.

I plan on being there early every single day, I'm a nervous wreck, I feel so foolish...I'm just hoping by doing a superb job I can redeem myself.

I completely agree...I'm mortified beyond belief.

Everyone was young and foolish at some point and everyone deserves a second chance. Be the best you can be!

I say just as long as you show a good work ethic and leave on a good note this time around you should have issues in the future. Most people realize that people make mistakes especially at an early age. You just have to prove them wrong this time around.
