because DCA needed it tremendously and got a big dose of money from the parent company ($1B) to improve/redesign the theme park as it was loosing visitors.

As cool as it is, it's part of a VERY expensive project that TDO would not shell out that kind of money for because they don't think an expansion like that is necessary (which if you compare the WDW to DCA's situation, is correct).

That's how I understand it anyway.

Agree on the attendance. In 2009 DCA reportedly had attendance around 6.1 million. The lowest of the Florida parks was Disney's Animal Kingdom at 9.6 million.

Even Disneyland--which is right across the plaza from DCA--drew 15.9 million. Just stunning to think that DL attendance is 2.5x that of DCA (well, not really that stunning if you had seen DCA a couple years ago.)

Take a trip out to California sometime. It can be cheaper than many people think. I already snagged round trip tickets out of Detroit for $150 per person for our visit next June.

Personally I'd much rather seen WDW build unique attractions rather than having copycats of everything at DL/DCA.

I'd much rather see clones from Parks that I don't or can't visit than the stagnation that has been WDW for the past few years.

On top of what everyone else said, Disneyland has yet to use the Test Track technology, and Carsland is the perfect venue for it.

Sure, a Carsland would be nice in Orlando, but where? Knock down Test Track and redesign it for Carsland?

Take it a step futher, would Disneyworld benefit from two Test Tracks?

On the contrary....using test track technology on a second and entirely differently themed attraction in WDW would be a welcome addition. You can definitely have 2 attractions utilize the same ride techonolgy. Just look at how popular the Omnimover is...

Journey to the Center of the Earth would fit nicely in a new land at AK, and it uses the same ride system as Test Track.

Most of the opening day vehicle-based attractions at EPCOT used the Omnimover system save for UOE, Living with the Land and El Rio del Tiempo, so it can work!

You also have to remember that Carsland at DCA is a huge piece of land. It's 12 acres of Onstage area, plus a huge show building Backstage. The tailfins of the Cadillac Range are 180 feet tall, taller than a 15 story building. The rockwork and vertical cliffs alone make up 6 acres of surface area. Carsland will have 3 attractions, 3 dining locations, and 3 stores when it's completed, with a few expansion pads built in as well.

It's massive.

Carsland at Epcot would take out nearly one whole side of Future World. Or at DHS Carsland would take out nearly everything from Dopey Drive south to the parking lot autoplaza.

I know it's been said here that there are concepts for Radiator Springs Racers to come to DHS. It would take over most of the Backlot area (I believe they could go either way with Catastrophe Canyon.) We would get Radiator Springs Racers, and supposedly a nearby restaurant would be re-themed (or a new one would be built, I'm not sure.) Honestly, I don't think that we'd be seeing a Carsland for quite a while, as the management would probably want to wait and see how the TDA version fares.

In my opinion, I'd rather let DCA have its own unique land and attractions, and Pixar Place could get its own unique attraction, like a Wall-E dark ride or something.
