Carsland--A Good Idea??

Is there anyone else who is hesitant about the new Carsland being added to DCA? I personally do not think it is wise for Disney to theme an entire land after one movie franchise. Sure, the concepts for the land look amazing...but what will happen many years down the road when the franchise loses steam and there is less demand for the Cars theme? :veryconfu I am worried that this may just be an impulsive fix, using what is currently popular, and that Disney is not looking into the future. Why invest so much money into a land that will probably not provide timeless attractions?

I don't know....in my opinion, Cars is destined to become a classic. I think it is one of the best Disney movies of all time (again, my opinion....but I know alot of others who feel the same way). I've probably seen it a hundred times and I am still not tired of it (I can't say that about many movies). My son loved it when it came out, and it still his favorite movie (and he has seen pretty much every Disney movie). It is the one Disney movie that he will watch again and again.....Peter Pan is a close second. He also has all of the Cars toys and plays with them all of the time....alot of his toys get tossed aside when the newness wears off, but not his Cars. I really think that this movie will withstand the test of time. There is just something special about it, in my opnion.

Well this will be a similiar idea like Bugland, but if you think of it they have been using Toy Story since it has come out in theater in about everything. it all started with a Parade back at MGM when the movie came out and it still contuines today in the new ride Midway Mania. So I think this will be another toy story yet it gets its own land. Yet, on the other hand there are attractions that children today probably have never heard of the movie, example Roger Rabbit or maybe dare say... Indina Jones? But that happens when you create a movie attraction will it pass the test of time?? Most children may only know it because its a fun ride and not for its storyline, and that happens most of the time at least when I was a kid. Like I didn't know when I was a little kid playing on tom sawyers island that it was based off a movie/book?? I just was having the time of my life... yet I did know where I was playing in Honey I shrunk the kids movie set at MGM... but that was a movie that came out at my time... yet to kids know today the meaning of this play ground...probably not because they just want to have fun :) and that is all that matters...so if this attraction of Carsland is fun... it maybe forgotten who Mater is in years to come... but if its fun it wont be forgotten :)

As long as the ride is awesome, it will be fine :)

I bet no one knows much about the Uncle Remus stories or Song of the South, but Splash Mountain is one of the most popular rides in both WDW and DL.

I get the sense that it's getting its own land by nature of the size of the main attraction. Personally I'm really looking forward to it - particularly the flying hubcap attraction! And honestly, anything is an improvement for DCA. It will be great to see some more Disney-level attractions and detail in there at long last.

I don't the franchise something is based upon is at all important if the final attraction is enjoyable. I might be in the minority as far as that is concerned, but I enjoy the rides for what they are and not the film or characters they are based off of.
