I'm rereading the 2007 Unofficial Guide to Walt Disney World via the Internet Archive. Y'know how they used to have those "peek behind the scenes" fact boxes for some attractions?Well, one such factoid claimed that Tom Saywer Island was on the endangered attractions list for a while (because it wasn't wheelchair accessible), but John Lasseter loved the island, and since he was the principal creative advisor for Imagineering at the time, that meant they couldn't remove it.I know John's a controversial figure, but do you think there's any relation to how they're removing Tom Saywer Island and how he was shown the door in 2018? Then again, if that was the case they probably would've replaced it a long time ago...
