Cars Suite room recommendations

We're staying in a couple Cars suites at AoA on our next trip. Which rooms do you recommend to be close to the food court and/or Big Blue pool?

SO happy to have found this thread! My fam has a Finding Nemo suite booked 9/7-12, but our AAA agent couldn't get through this morning to confirm that we could get the free dining discount, so she suggested booking a room in the Cars section of AoA, which would save us $500. So right now we have Cars rooms on hold for us until she can get through and confirm what is available for free dining during our stay. Hadn't looked much into the Cars suites since we were so sold on the FN section with it's theme, proximity to food court and large pool. Glad to hear we can still enjoy those things in the Cars section!

AoA is pretty compact compared to the moderates. Even the LM rooms aren't too far away. Cars is a short walk to the main building and pool.

Thanks for the reassurance! Was just showing the twins the disboards vid of the Cars section/suites- turns out they've never even seen the movie Cars. So, this just means we have all summer to watch it (and watch it again) and get them Cars-crazy before we arrive to the resort. I think I'm to that challenge ;)

I'm actually not a fan of Cars at all. However, the Cars section of AoA is really cool. It's the best-themed area of the resort although the Nemo section is a close second. That area is really well done. You're going to have a blast.

Seconded. Must be why the youngest 2 haven't seen the movie. Amazing how I lose track of what we do with our kids after about 6 wks into that second child. Poor kids. Watching the vids of the resort, though, I am definitely excited, even though I just LOVE Finding Nemo (the movie, so to be staying in those rooms would be nice). I am, however, a bigger fan of saving money. Like I said, whichever package gets us the better deal wins. Just relieved to know that there's no real "down"grade, regardless of where we stay at AoA!

We wanted the Nemo suites as well. But I was only able to get Free Dining at Cars or Lion King. Since I have girls, we opted for the Lion King. The truth is, the theme of the room doesn't matter much. All the best themed stuff is in the public areas. For Nemo, the best stuff is the pool area which everyone can enjoy. We visited all three pools and they are all terrific. Cars had the better of the two small pools. The entire Cars courtyard is like a mini Carsland.

In terms of layout, both Cars and Lion King are a 5 minute walk from the main building. And I walk slowly. The Little Mermaid rooms are about a 10 minute hike. So that is arguably a downgrade. But if you are staying in the suites, walking won't be a concern for most people.

On our first day, we had lunch at Landscape of Flavors (which is a terrific food court). We were all stuffed and had desserts we weren't going to eat. I ran them back up to the room because it was just a short 5 minute walk each way. I would never have done such a thing at one of the moderates because it would have eaten up too much valuable park time.

We didn't mind switching buildings at all for the savings. Sounds like you're in the same boat.
