Cars Land

After reading the Disney shareholders report, I was wondering what the details of Cars Land were. I know that its going to be at DCA and something like 12 acres, but it was kind of vague.

But what really is it and do we know if there are any plans to bring it to other parks like they do with every other ride they seem to build? I did a search on the forums and didn't really see anything of note.

I sure hope not!

All WDW needs is more Pixar. I don't know much about this project, but it seems like a nicer version some of the kiddie-type lands we already have. I will say that the one flagship ride with the Test Tack technology sounds promising, but I still don't want to see it in Orlando. If I had to make an uneducated guess, I would say we aren't going to see it at the FL parks anytime soon, if ever.

I dont really know alot about it, but what I remember hearing is that, one of the rides there is going to be similar to Test Track. So by that, I doubt it would come to WDW atleast with the Test Track type ride coming with it. Other than that, Im not really sure, maybe someone else can give more detail.

What is sort of known for Carsland is that there will be 3 attractions, the big one that uses Test Track tech, one with Luigi and is suppost to be like the old Flying Saucers from DL, and last is one with Mater and those cow like cars. It suppost to sit behing the Pacific Warf area of the park and take away part of the farm(which IMO is fine since theres really nothing to the farm except bug land) I think the opening date is 2012?

Theres a few pics of the model that got out-(but right now I guess the photobucket account is off till the feb 15? i think but check it out when its back its really great looking)

I can't wait to see what the new Test Track technology brings. Journey to the Center of the Earth implemented the technology to perfection as the ride is capable of instant acceleration and drops as well as a smooth ride.

They look great. I'd love to have that model in my home! :D

Judging by those oversized traffic cones, it looks like they are going to replicate the Radiator Springs motel that was featured in the movie.

In fact, the whole town is being replicated, lifesize. And all of the buildings will be useful, not facades. Either shops (and not your generic ones), or eateries, everything will have a purpose. There will be a counter service restaurant, but alas, no Drive In restaurant for the moment. But the amount of details will be amazing and no doubt that this land will be a surefire hit.

And the main ride: it will be beautiful. Cars will go outside (complete with canyons and waterfall) then inside a showbuilding, and visit the whole Cars world in such a realistic way. Almost every characters seen in the movie will make an appearance as advanced audioanimatronics. Some Test Tracks effects will be reused as well, and at the end, there is a dual race in the desert (but the two tracks are identical).
