I think when many people compare Cars 2 with other Pixar classics, yeah, it can look pretty awful. But this does not mean the film as a whole was a stink fest per-say. While a bit on the disappointed side, I did not walk out of the theater with a bad taste in my mouth. It just wasn't Pixar. We sometimes place the Pixar name on such a high pedestal (and can you blame us, considering the studio's reputation up until C2)? But every studio is bound to release a stink bomb or two. This might be the only one Pixar craps out, but it certainly was not a sleeper or deplorable film by any means.
Had the film been released from a different studio, I probably would not have been let down. That is just my bias after TS3, UP, and other great films the studio has flooded us with over the past decade.
