We will be going to Disney's Carribbean Beach Resort for our stay.

I know we're near Epcot and MGM.

At night after the fireworks,,,,,,,,,,,,,,is there a boat in Epcot that will take us back to our resort? I heard about the International Waterway there and heard it may be connected to the lake at Carribbean Beach REsort? Please inform me you very wise ones.

Busses will take you to all 4 theme parks, water parks, and Downtown Disney. Watercraft does not service Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort.

transportation

Its a shame...

After 12 vacations to Caribbean Beach, we still cannot believe that they cannot connect the Resort to MGM, and maybe even Epcot. CB is right next door to MGM, its less then a 3 min bus ride, and its directly across the street from Epcot World Showcase, which is nice regardless because you can watch Illuminations nightly from Old Port Royale, and the BEST unknown spot, the ARUBA bus stop.

I know if walkways were connected CB would become more expensive b/c only the *deluxe* resorts are connected by boats, pathways and monorails to the parks....except for animal kingdom lodge, which is sorta funny, hahaha. (you cannot even walk to the park, haha)

But the bus system is very convenient, never a problem, so enjoy!

I LOVE DISNEY'S CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT!!

I think the problem lies within that the resort is so huge. That, and the way the land is laid out, it just doesn't permit any room for a walkway or waterway.

Walking to Epcot would be extremely costly. You'd have to go up above the roadway. I don't know about getting to MGM.

The only problem that I had with the bus transportation was that drivers didn't always follow the same pattern (usually Aruba, Jamaica, Barbados, Martinique, Old Port Royale, Trinidad) and the stop wasn't called out. You had to look and see at which stop you were at.

and LESS EXPENSIVE.

Yes they are included with your resort stay that cost for 2 adults and one 6 years old for 8 days moderate resort, air line tickets, and rental car $3317.03. Without rental car $3112.86, a $204.17 difference. How much does food on property cost verses off property at say Benningans. I did the math between first and second trip first trip at on property for first 4 days and wound up spending $700.00 for food, second trip ate in Kissimee at very nice table service resturants and only spent $400.00 on food. Which is cheaper for me. RENTAL CAR.:hammer:

WDW busses are not slow. They obey the Speed Limit. Next time you pass a WDW bus, check out your speedometer... there's a good chance you'll be speeding... which, is breaking the law. No if, ands, or buts.

Slow as in

they do not leave and arrive when I want to. On the first trip I took to WDW in 2001, my family and I waited for 2 hours to get on a bus back to the resort. The line was that long after the Fantasmic show. The parking lot was empty.

So I guess when you are sitting at a stop light and the light turns green the bus will be just as fast as your car to get up to the speed limit. NOT a bus is slower than almost (maybe not a yugo) all passenger cars. Weight to power ratios seem to have a play in that.:hammer:

I didn't say anything about food, housing, etc. I'm talking about TRANSPORTATION.

If you rent a car while on property, rather than just use the buses, then renting a car costs more.

Don't be so sure about that... there are some busses out there that can do 0-60 in 9 seconds... Granted our busses have been detuned for safety reasons, however, I have been able to keep up with passenger cars before.

Now, boys...

There is a hard core cadre of us who love the busses and wouldn't consider trying to fight traffic when we're on vacation.

Any transportation is slow right after the parks close. Who really cares how quickly you get to the traffic jam?

My heart will always belong to the crew in purple pants!!
