Carousel of Progress Update

Carousel of Progress is now "shut down" with no official reopening date. Look for a reopening a few days before Christmas, and it should operate through New Years.

Yay; another one of Walt's Birthdays celebrated without his jewel.

a while ago i got the newer "Birhuam(somethin or other's)'s" Official walt disney world guide (u know what i mena )...and on the map, and the description for Tomorrowland...thy do not even mention COP or Timekeeper...so I'm guessing that will OFFICIALLY close soon.....

and (i know it's off the su ject) but did u guys hear about the Hong Kong DL construction, and how they've dug-up over 200 bombs! woo...makes u wonder if they get all of them 'aye?

I doubt it will officially close. Unless it is moving somewhere. HIGHLY doubtful.

COP has been unlisted in even WDW's maps when it did operate. Maybe they just don't want guests to know about it so they don't have to run it? Haha; maybe not, but that actually kinda makes sense... :brick:

i agree, they don't list it so that they don't have to have it open if they don't want to...i agree with them in a way that it is not an high volume e ticket type ride, but for the older people it is cool....especially those who love Disney, the company and the man. I love CoP and I have only been on it one time last year! so yeah...

and in the earlier news from Eyes and Ears we knew it was only going to be open for thanksgiving and christmas.

I think we'll continue to see it operate seasonally like this until WDW comes up with a more definite plan for the space. I think we'll see something there eventually, just not for awhile.


If you want proof...look at it this way. The tomorrow land theater, CoP, and the old skyway entrance are all right next to each other and all could be easily demolished for something new. Look for this as the next space they expand into.
