Carousel of Progress operating schedule

Every time I go to Walt Disney World one question always comes up....

"Is the Carousel of Progress going to be running when we are there?"

It is one of our family's favorite attractions. My mom is going to WDW in the 1st week of May and she really wants it to be running when she's there.

The COP operates on a limited schedule at times and the WDW web site never tells you when it is going to be running. Can anyone tell me if and when the attraction will be running during the 1st week of May?

I don't think it's been on a limited schedule for the past couple of years. Unless they recently put it back on one.

it hasn't been running "seasonally" for years. It is open every day.

When I went in 2005 it was running on an on/off schedule. I remember being on the forums asking people for updates and people would get back to me saying it was or wasn't open while they were there, and it wasn't down for repairs. That's the last time I was there, in 2005, so if you say it runs everyday, that's good enough for me.

My Bad! I just am so proud of the signature I made and have used it on other Disney forums for years and was bummed we couldn't use images for signatures here, so I thought I'd be crafty....but

It should be running proudly when you are there, but one should note that it is not open on extra magic hours nights.:wave:

And it's moderately popular to boot. It still isn't on park maps as far as I know though.

It has been running, a few of the AA's stall from time to time, but it's running. :lol:

A refurb would be nice instead of a replacement.

Really? I'm holding a MK map that is from last summer (Capt Jack on the cover) and it's right there - first thing listed in Tomorrowland (#43).

Thanks everyone for the help. Me and my family L O V E!!!!!! The Carousel of Progress, it's such a must-see classic! My Mom would have been crushed if it wasn't running when she was there.

I guess I remember it running on limited hours or something, but I guess I was mistaken. I hadn't read anything about it running everyday for the last few years, so I was still going on the assumption that it wasn't for some reason. That's really good news!

P.S. - Do you know how jealous I am of my mom that she's heading down to WDW in a few weeks..........:brick:

Two years ago, the ride was running every day...it even was kept open during the Extra Magic Hours even though it wasn't one of the officially "opened" rides.

Just got back today and it was running the entire time we were there. We rose it Thursday night and it was pretty crowded. It should be up for you, unless something unscheduled happens.
