Carousel of Progress Idea

The Carousel of Progress is a ride with fast loading potential and is being very underutilized. My suggestion is to change each, curtain opening scene, with a screening of a popular animated movie clip that INCLUDES a popular song. The clips could be enhanced to 3D technology? I have to listen to my favorite songs on very old music CD's. Music from animated movies is one area that has been short changed in the parks. So many beautiful songs and singers! Free idea! My joy would be to arrive at the carousel and see it come to fruition.

I hear you.

In my humble opinion, they should probably overhaul the entire attraction as a whole. The overall message should remain the same, but instead of moving up in 20 year increments (starting in the 1900's), they should move in 40 year increments: 1900's - 1940's - 1980's - 2020's. I believe this move would really modernize the vision Walt had back in the 60's when it was developed. Just my opinion of course. :)

Agreed. Keep the same moral of the story intact but freshen up the old elements with new ones. I always thought that Disney might possibly replace the attractions characters with the "Meet the Robinson's" characters. After all, the movie is about time travel, technology advances and family, so why not?

Or same thing, but all the scenes get replaced starting from 1960s. After all, 1900 was still relavent to some people living in 1964. Today, no one is alive from 1900. If we also focused the storyline more on computer integration and digital age vs electricity and the electric age, it would be more relavent to audiences today, keep the same story and message, while being completely different and less like a museum piece.

All very good ideas.

Seeing as the foundation is already there, I can only imagine the cost of implementing an update would be far less than building something new from scratch as well. I could be wrong though. ;-)
