Has anyone ever read this guy's book? I'm reading it right now for some research I'm doing for my master's degree (unlike Hiaasen I am arguing for the virtues of Disney) and I gotta tell you, this guy holds quite a grudge. The first chapter is all about how he preferred when Times Square was inhabited by hookers, as opposed to the clean Disney image that's present there now (as someone who is in NY City almost every weekend, I can tell you most New Yorkers are not thankful enough for what Disney's done).

What gave this guy his extreme hatred of Disney? I'm envisioning him waiting for hours to get on Space Mountain and deciding this was all Disney's fault (I'm kidding, of course).

I just finished reading this book 2 days ago. ( I needed $5 more on Amazon to get free shipping and I thought there might be interesting facts that I didn't know in there) He really hates Disney. I recently moved from NY to Florida. Before Disney, central Florida was bug infested swamp land. Floridians enjoy no state taxes and low property taxes thanks to the droves of tourists that follow my favorite mouse to his castle. Disney gives Florida residents unbelievable deals on tickets and hotels. I bet the author likes not paying taxes.

In college, in a sociology class we had to read a book callled something like How to read Donald Duck and it was about how Disney is brainwashing America's youth into communism. (Scrooge McDuck is bad because he has money and dark faced people are evil)

These people just cannot enjoy Disney for the childlike joy it gives so many millions.
SIX MORE DAYS TILL DISNEY WORLD.......Florida sesonal resident pass!!!!

IMHO - He's a marginally witty writer who thinks himself hilarious. He writes maybe one or too good articles a year. I wouldn't get too worked up about him.

Besides, if he hates Disney, that's one less person in line! ;)

I could be wrong, but isn't he from Florida?

He is buddies with Dave Barry, who writes for the paper in Miami--maybe that's why I assumed that.
