Caring for Giants Tour?

Has anyone ever done the Caring for Giants tour at Animal Kingdom? We have a group of 8 going - 4 adults and 17, 11, 7, 5 year old kids. We have done the Behind the Seeds tour at Epcot and enjoyed that.

Any thoughts on Caring for Giants? Good, bad, indifferent??? Any thoughts are appreciated! (PS - we are DVC members, so I believe we get a discount on this tour... )

My sister and I did this back in October. Well worth the money. There was an AP discount at the time too.

There's a short drive out to the behind-the-scenes viewing area, but you spend the majority of the "tour" viewing the elephants. You do have to go up some stairs to get to the viewing area, but it's not at all strenuous. The guides are very knowledgeable about the animals and conservation -- curious people with lots of questions enhance the experience. Of course, if you love animals and could spend hours just watching them, this is a great tour, albeit short.

I can recommend the tour. Did it last month -birthday surprise for husband :inlove: because he loves elephants- and we enjoyed it very much. Absolutely worth it.

We had it scheduled for last September, but it was cancelled due to the hurricane, really hope to do it this year - looks fab!

If you want to know what it entails, check you tube. There are a couple of videos up,
