Caribbean Resort Room?

Im not sold on these pirate rooms. I was going to upgrade to these from the pop century but after using google earth to walk "virtually" from the rooms to the main area of the resort (where the food court and shops are) it just is way too far.

I just am spoiled by staying at the pop century and being able to stroll out of bed and walk right into the food court for my breakfast or head down for a snack at anytime or even head to the arcade for a few minutes then stroll back up to bed etc.

The moderates just seem so spread out that if your not at the preferred area (which the pirate rooms are not yet) then it just seems that I would feel stranded out there. I realize that you have a bus stop infront of each little area.. but because its an area by itself then its like staying at a resort with no food court and no shops etc.

I would go for the pirate rooms if they were in other Islands. But, yes, you are paying extra money to be in the furthest Island away.

However, if you could secure a room in Trinidad South as close to Trinidad North as possible, the walk would be pretty close, about 5 mins.

I'd like to see some pirate rooms in some more locations. Maybe pick a building from each Island and transform the rooms pirate style.

My family is excited to stay there. We love the look of the room. We requested a building as close as we could get. We understand that we may not get it but it's worth a shot. We will have our own car so driving to the parks is an option for us. We most likely will take breakfast foods (pop tarts, cereal, etc) and will eat our other meals in the park.

Thanks for the link. It made my kids even more excited to stay there!

I've always found Caribbean Beach's bus service to the parks as good. Yes, there are glitches sometimes, but I have also had bad transportation experiences at Wilderness Lodge, Beach Club, and Yacht Club. It's all over. We would only use a taxi/car to get from Resort to Resort.

Additionally, you are not ridiculously far away from Old Port Royale when staying in Trinidad South. Make use of the food court and Pirate Pool. They are great. The distance is farther than other Island locations, but certainly not impossibly far. You'll have a great trip. I cannot wait to hear more about the pirate rooms, and see more of them!

I'm sure we'll use both the food court and buses. It's just that my kids like to eat as soon as they get up. My son is addicted to Pop Tarts so we will be taking some with us. I do like the idea that we can drive to the parks if we want to. It's nice to be able to leave exta clothes in the car instead of in a locker or carrying them around in a backpack.

It didn't look like it was too far from everything. We were in one of the farthest buildings at All Star Music before. That was a hike!

TVs in rooms

First post here. :sohappy:

I have a question that maybe no one knows but I'll try. Does anyone know if the tvs for Caribbean Beach Pirate rooms will be flat screen like they have in the renovated rooms at Corondo Springs? That would be so much better than what they have now!

Thanks!

I'd assume that the televisions are your flat screen but box style. The artist's rendering shows a box TV on a table, but all TVs being placed in rooms have that flat front screen.

And the Wilderness Lodge is great too. Their pool is weak, but everything else is great. Rent bikes and ride over to Fort Wilderness. Lots of wild animals along the way, and the petting zoo is really fun. Lots to do.

This is a great idea. I was just looking at Trails End's menu. We could always ride bikes to eat on our first night.

Actually, Disney's new website design showed photos of the pirate rooms and they had regular box tvs (I'd use the term CRT, but that means something different here  ). They look like the same TVs that were in the armoires. Unfortunately, the new webpage was only up for the morning of Jan 2nd and was taken down. There were a lot of bad typos, it looked like someone's o key was broken when they were writing the content.

So, keep checking the website for better photos of the pirate rooms and the Nemo rooms.

I am staying in the Pirate room in June. I cannot wait to see the pictures. Does anyone know how long of a walk it is to the food court from the Trinidad South building?

Here are a couple of pictures. I do not have answers to any questions as we've never stayed at CBR and doubt we ever will (we are CSR lovers). As adults, the rooms don't do anything for us, but I think kids will really get a kick out of them. Enjoy:
