Caribbean Beach Resort?

ShookieJones

We need time for things to happen.
As far as moderates are concerned I've stayed at both POFQ and PORS.
I'm super familiar with them and love them both for their own unique reasons many of which are contemplated and debated here. :)

I've recently put our deposit down on May vacation and to change things up I booked us at CBR.

I'm now second guessing myself.:lookaroun..and thinking maybe I should stick with one of the PO resorts...then I triple guessed myself :lookaroun and thought about maybe doing CSR but am leary on that one since it's a convention hotel.

Anyone's thoughts on the pluses of CBR and\CSR and how they compare or are better than Port Orleans resorts would be much appreciated.

cbr rocks!

You will LOVE CBR. It is a beautiful resort! The pool is awesome and, in my opinion, they have the best kiddie pool in all of Disney World. Their food court is great and very pretty. The last time we ate there, they broke out into an impromptu limbo dance and everyone who participated got a hawaiian lei. The rooms are nice and the river view is beautiful. They also have the pirate cruise (my kids said that was the best 2 hours of their lives!) just for kids. The pirate themed rooms are fun too! You will have a great time!

I've stayed at both CBR and CSR. My family and I prefer CBR. Make sure you request a room in Jamica, so that you're not to far away from pool and dining. It's also fun to walk across the bridges and island. The food and the buses are about the same at each resort, but we liked the decor of CBR much better.

I have stayed at both and enjoy both of them. If you remain at CBR, request the Jamaica section. It is convenient for buses and is only a short walk across the bridge to the food court.

I have stayed at POR and enjoyed the resort but hated the buses, but not a deal breaker.

All of them are nice resorts. Try something new and enjoy it.

Both times in the last 3 yrs we have stayed at CBR and it was great, bus service to the parks was amazing and food was also. We have stayed in aruba and barbados with no complaints.

I agree try someplace new and have fun!

Ok so it's looking like we have a few thumbs up for CBR.

We rent a car every year so I'm not concerned with transportation but being close to the food court is a plus. Looks like if we go forward with this I will be asking for Jamaica.

Any other tips?

Aside from the Pirate Rooms have any other 'regular' rooms had refurbs recently?

I was pretty happy with the refurbs at POFQ when we stayed.

As far as CBR goes, I always felt it was a moderate that was more of a value in terms of how busy it was. I loved the PO resorts and have also stayed at CSR. It is a convention hotel but that is so nice when it comes to parks because the transportation is often much better as the convention people often don't go to the parks. I guess its all a matter of opinion but I guarantee you won't enjoy it nearly as much as POR or POFQ. Those feel much more like a moderate.

Awesome pool at CSR! Also, queen beds and beautiful grounds. We stayed there last year and loved it. The conventions didn't bother us at all. The rooms have also been renovated a couple of years ago. Not sure when, but definitely more recently than CBR.

When we stay in the moderates, we always still at CBR. We love the feel of the resort and love the theme of it. (But, we love being in the Carribbean on an island when we can get away in the winter.) WE have never had any complaints or issues while staying there. Food court was nice and roomy, buses and transportation was good also. Try something new, you will like it.

I believe all the rooms have been refurbed in the past couple years.

The biggest tip, that I can think, I mentioned before, as well as other people: request Jamaica. It's in a great position.

In the store, they used to have coconuts that you could send home, like a post card.

Choices galore.

Yep,agree with other fans,CBR was our first stay, really enjoyed it,then two years later tried CS,apart from only one basin in the toilet area in your room and yes there was a convention while we were there,it was ok,then two years later it was POFQ,really enjoyed it more than the rest. Then another two years down the line we tried PORS,wow, fell in love with the mansions, kept lookin for Rhet Butler and Scarlet:ROFLOL:and since then its been PORS for us,but its nice to try other resorts.have a magical vacation:sohappy:

I haven't tried the other mods, but we love CBR. The beach atmosphere with the steel drum music is great. And like other posters have suggested, I recommend you ask for a room in the Jamaica or Aruba buildings NEAR THE FOOTBRIDGE because you get a feel for the whole resort walking over that bridge a few minutes to the food court.
