hello all, my DD is in the Disney college program. i am going down in December to see her , i have a reservation at CB but i have some questions , i have rheumatoid arthritis so long walking and stairs are not always fun lol

i have heard the resort is rather large but it says it has transportation from the rooms to the main areas? is this correct ? and do they come often ? so if you miss one you're not waiting an hour for the next lol

are there buses to all the park at every set of buildings?

is it true the room buildings have no elevators? that seems off to me lol

that's about it other than do you recommend the resort?

thanks in advance

There are seven bus stops around the perimeter of the resort. Some rooms are closer to a stop than others. Select "close to transportation" when you do your online check-in. The internal shuttle bus runs on a continuous loop.

are there buses to all the park at every set of buildings?
Yes. Depending on the destination, the buses do either a clockwise or counter-clockwise loop around the resort's internal stops and then leave the resort to go to one of the parks.

That's correct. If you have mobility challenges, request a room on the first floor.

Not really. For roughly the same price, I'd recommend Port Orleans Riverside or Port Orleans French Quarter.

thank you CaptainAmerica ,for your quick reply , i would have liked to stay at POFQ lol but my DD got a good deal on this resort and i have never stayed in a moderate so i am hoping it's fun :)
i think i will request first floor , close to transportation, i am going to call and ask it to be added to the reservation i just wanted to make sure that's all i needed to say before i called , i like that they have the internal transportation though and that they have park buses at the different building that's definitely helpful

I have stayed at CBR and enjoyed it so yes, I can recommend it. It is big but the buses make getting around very simple even if you have mobility issues. Since you have a medical condition, you could request a handicapped accessible room, all of which I believe are on the first floor near transportation. Enjoy!

This resort gets a bum rap, in my opinion. We love it.

It sounds like you're already on the right track asking for a room near a bus stop and on the first floor. You may also want to consider asking for a particular "island," or set of rooms. We have stayed in "Aruba" three times (based on reviews we read on line) and loved it. However, it's not the closest to the food court area. If that's important to you, and you want to be able to walk to the food court area rather than take the bus, you might want to request another island that is closer to that area. (For us, we like being a little farther away so it's quieter.)

I've heard complaints about the food. The restaurant is called Shutters, and we liked it just fine. Not super fancy, not going to blow your mind, but convenient and decent. There is also a bar outside. Inside, there are several options, including some you don't see at every other resort. There is a pork sandwich there (shredded pork with a Carribbean slaw and BBQ sauce) that I adore, and will often stop to get one "for the road" on our way home, even if we didn't stay at that resort.

The resort itself is colorful, laid-back, and the rooms were redone in the last few years.

We never stayed at a moderate, either, until a few years ago. Having now stayed at Port Orleans Riverside (once) Coronado Springs (once) and Carribbean Beach Resort, while there are things we like about each, we keep coming back to CBR. Also, we tend to get the best deal on that one, sometimes by a considerable amount.

The one thing that can be a pain is if you want to get to the parks in a hurry, the bus time can seem long. Depending on what area of the resort you're in, you might have to wait for it to make a few more stops before leaving the resort to get to the parks.

Have a great time!

We were a POR family until we tried CBR last year, now don't get me wrong I still love POR but i was out voted 3 to 1 as to which resort to go to IN ONLY 28 DAYS!! We love the fact that it is so spread out. Never seams crowded when we take our walks..unless you hit the food court at prime dining times, which we do not, the grounds are beautiful, our only request is for a ground floor room. Since we always road trip our vacation and no elevators it would be a pain lugging the cooler, stroller,etc..up the stairs..another bonus is that you can see a lot of the fireworks at Epcot from Ole Port Royal ( we actually watched some from the Jamican pool) every night if you choose to..so yes I definitely recommend CBR, have a great vacation!!

These are all great things to read as my wife and I and our 2 (almost 3) year old daughter will be staying here for 8 nights in March. We've did the same 8 nights last summer at POR and absolutely loved it there, but wanted to try CBR and were fortunate to get a good deal through one of our CM friends.

It sounds like you know what to ask for, OP. Just don't be afraid to speak up if you arrive at check-in and, for whatever reason, your requests haven't been honored. (Sometimes things just slip through the cracks -- we've often had to ask again at the front desk about requests we'd made during online check-in that were overlooked, and usually, the CM has been able to help us.) Simply explain your situation and ask politely if they can re-assign you to a room that will be more accommodating to your needs -- if they can, they will.

I have RA as well (although thank goodness it is currently in remission) so I understand your concerns. We have stayed at CBR twice and loved it both times. If you are in pain, I would request a handicapped accessible room on the first floor as there are no elevators. Both times we requested a standard room "in Aruba or Jamaica near the footbridge." These rooms are about as close as you can get to the food court and the main pool from a standard room. It's only about a five minute walk. They are also close to one of the 7 bus stops. I think you will really like this resort. We particularly enjoy the hammocks on the beach and the steel drum music throughout.

Request not only that the room in your group of buildings be close to transportation, but also which group of buildings you want to be in... the ones that are the first bus stop or the group of buildings closest to the food court.
