Caribbean Beach Resort question...

I decided to read some of the travel guidebooks just to see what they all have to say and in one of them (one of the more popular ones, not an obscure book) I read this:

"The Epcot resort hotels - the Boardwalk Inn & Villas, Caribbean Beach Resort, Dolphin, Swan, and Yacht & Beach Club Resorts and Beach Club Villas - are within a 5- to 15-minute walk of the International Gateway, the World Showcase entrance to the theme park. The hotels are also linked to Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios by canal and walkway."

From the several times I've been to WDW, we've gone on the boats and it's not even connected to the CBR (but maybe I'm wrong??). And I thought it was more like a 45 minute walk to the International Gateway. I even check Google and they were saying 40 minutes.

But I've never stayed in that area, nor explored it all that closely.

Is this book giving false information in regards to CBR, or did I miss something?

Probably written by someone who has never stayed there, just knows that the "Epcot Resorts are linked to Epcot and HS." When in fact, only Epcot Deluxe Resorts are linked.

For our Senior Trips, we stay at Caribbean Beach and my early morning running route takes me to the Deluxe Epcot Resorts via a crosswalk, sidewalk, about 100yards on grass, then back to a sidewalk. No way would I walk that to get to a park, though.

That's interesting.
Any estimation how long it would take you to reach EPCOT's International Gateway entrance, walking, using this route?

Technically you are not allowed to walk it using that route - and most likely if they catch you the security folks will drive you to your destination and warn you not to walk it in the future.

Just a heads up, the crosswalk and pedestrian signals you used to cross Buena Vista Drive and access the sidewalk on the other side have been removed. There is no longer a safe/legal way to cross the road at that intersection.

Indeed. I did see that on my last CBR trip. At 530am I still do it. Whether it is legal or not, not looking to argue that point. Everybody have a terrific day! And congrats to all the runDisney performers.
