Can anyone tell me what the "Pirate Rooms" are like. We are booking for the first week of March and there are pirate rooms available for a good price. We have stayed at POP and AoA in the past but want to step up to a moderate or deluxe. The just look kind of old in the pictures.

Also, how far are they from everything? We have an 8 and 9 year old so it seems like the pool would be fun for them. Just looking for advice.

Pirate rooms are at the far south end of the resort.

You'll have to walk or take a bus to get to the pool/food court area, but they are surprisingly nice and well done. I can't imagine any kid not loving them. FYI the beds are doubles not queens because of their ship design, but otherwise the rooms are the same size at 314 square feet with the same amenities and layout as the standard rooms.

We just stayed in one of these last week. My teenage son loved the theming but they were WORN down quite a bit. We also had issues with a bad sewage smell in our bathroom throughout the trip (we just dealt with it because I have a 2 year old and didn’t want to pack - in a 6- night trip, it happened probably 6 or 7 times and was awful).

The walk to the Skyliner station was about 10 minutes and about 15 to Old Port Royale (dining, front desk, shopping. I haBe a foot injury and had to use the internal shuttle - this was VERY inefficient. Also, most bus trips took double the time before they dropped off at Trinidad.

We chose CBR just to check out the Skyliner but it wasn’t our cup of tea. We’ll be doing either BW or BC next.
