Hi all,

Looking to book for NYE 2016 for a birthday surprise. Planning to stay on the 30th and 31st December. We're going to Epcot for NYE. Which would be best for getting back after midnight The caribbean Beach Resort or Port Orleans? Have a 7 and 9 year old who will be very tired (flying in on the 29th) and possibly a merry husband!

Thanks!

It makes no difference since you will need to take a bus back to both resorts. CBR is a tad closer to Epcot than PO but you are really at the mercy of the buses. Be prepared for long waits when the crowds exit after the fireworks.

Both will be about the same regarding transportation on NYE in that it will take a loooooooong time to get back to your resort.

Of the two, Port Orleans has the shortest bus route.

Thank you both for your quick replies. We have a villa nr kissamee and thoight it would be a nice treat. If waiting for buses anyway wpuld we be better just getting a taxi from one of the hotels or with the queues be huge or is there a better hotel to go for a bit further but still disney (as it is a treat) that we can get a disney bus to?

The only resorts that will ease the transportation issue are the ones directly connected to Epcot which are the Boardwalk, Yacht Club, Beach Club and the Swan and Dolphin.

Of those choices, the Swan and Dolphin will be the least expensive, but they are not Disney Resorts.

Thank you for your help. I was thinking of booking a hotel thinking it would be mean we get back to the hotel quite a bit earlier but now thinking that £400 for 2 nights is quite a lot when we won't really be using the facilities at the hotels and maybe just a taxi back to our villa would be better. Where would be the best place to get a taxi after the fireworks?

How about Uber?
You download the app into your smart phone, and then you can actually price out your trip in advance. When you are ready to leave, walk to one of the Epcot resorts (about 5-10 minutes), "drop the pin" and Uber will pick you up!
That way you won't be competing with the 5,000 new best friends trying to exit the main gate!
