Simple question ..

What is the best/easiest way to request a room in a specific block at Caribbean Beach? I cannot find any email address or online chat for the hotel, so is phone the only way to contact them?

Also, does anyone know if there is an additional charge for making these types of requests?

Thanks in advance..

We were told that you are put into their system 10 days before your arrival. You can call the resort directly to make your request again, but still no guarantees. Good luck.

No, there is no charge for making a room request. You can do it via online check-in, or call/fax the resort directly.

If you do online check-in, you'll be given the option to make 2 requests from a pull-down list of preset options. Options you can choose include: each of the villages, ground floor, upper floor, corner room, near elevator, near transportation, water view, and king bed.

Keep in mind that some of the options you can select as a "request" are illusory -- for example, there ARE no elevators in the guest buildings at CBR, so selecting "near elevator" would be a waste. Similarly, "water view," "king bed," Trinidad North and half of Martinique (which contain preferred rooms) are bookable room categories with an upcharge -- so you can request them, but requesting them will amount to asking for a free upgrade, which may lower the chances of that request being granted.

Also, if you arrive to check in and find that your requests were not honored, there's no harm in politely asking the CM to please check again and see if they have something available in your desired location.

The best thing to do is simply call the reservation center and add the request to your reservation.

You can add requests when you check in online, but the options are limited.

If you call the resort prior to arrival you will often be transferred back to the reservation center.

Faxing is hit or miss. By policy, CM are not supposed to take fax requests. Some follow the rules, some do not.
