My family and I will be staying at Caribbean beach and what are some good tips about the resort. I hear it is very large and hard to get around. Was starting to think I should switch resorts but am limited due to free dining offer. Any advice is appreciated

All the resorts in the mod range are big, if cbr is the theming that you like then stay there. There are pros and cons for every resort and by everyone who stays. It's a great place, my family loves it, stayed several times in the past 2 yrs.

The food court is great despite some reviews I have read. We got the salmon and rice and was only charged a counter service meal and there was much more on the plate than at most dinner meals we ate. You'll love the atmosphere too and the walk to Port Royale and the bus stops are actually very short. You'll enjoy it!

Request a room in Martinique or Trinidad North in preferred rooms if at all possible. This gives you quick access to Port Royale and I highly recommend walking over to the Port Royale or Martinique bus stops because for most routes they are the first stops and provide a much greater chance of a seat if you choose to sit.

If you enjoy public hot tubs, there are two and the one behind the pool is usually much quieter but is further away from the pool bar if you are so inclined. IMO the pool at CBR is the best of the values and moderates.

As others have stated, don't forget to relax and enjoy the hammocks on the lake beach!

Aside from some long walks from some areas of the resort, the only getting around issue is that the Custom House is somehwat of a PITA to get to, but after check-in you would only need it for leaving on ME. Most of what you might need you can get from the concierges at OPR.

I love the place. The theme is incredible. I also think the size is an advantage as I have been there when it was jammed and outside of the OPR area it felt very open and quiet. A beautiful place to stay.

Is there any kind of concierge or hotel lobby attendant station inside port royale? It would seem like a pain if I had a problem with my MB or something else and would have to wait for a bus to get to the custom house, etc...

There is concierge service in Port Royale at the end of the main entrance hall before you enter the gift shop or turn to the right to enter the marketplace.

We always do preferred room at Martinique so it's a short hop to the preferred bus stop and to Old Port Royale. If getting your luggage over to the Custom House is something you don't want to undertake on foot, call and they will pick it and you up with a van and hustle you right over there day or night. While I would like a queen sized bed and to not have an occasional stop at a waterpark on the bus when it's not my final destination, different things have won members of the family over. Things like the theming, hammocks, pool and s'mores for the kids on the beach are the kind of things that I'm talking about. It's also a fairly quick hop to any of the parks. It feels fairly centrally located. The quick service options and snack options are fine for us. A lackluster dining experience at Shutters a couple years ago has kept us from going back. The anoles and other wildlife are cute for kiddos and we have found the rooms to be quiet. Just some of my thoughts. We've logged around 40 nights there in the last 2.5 years.
