The rooms were very subdued originally before the major renovation.

Currently, post renovation, the rooms ahve picked up with splashes of color everywhere, but nothing overlydramatic or gaudy like the hallways and such in the Swan/Dolphin.

The furniture is a modestly painted light green if I remember, but the new carpeting, drapes, and bedspreads can be quite bright and contrasting, depending on your island. I like it though, very tropical and soothing.

Yellow Shoes is right. Its impossible to tell what someone else will find attractive or distracting. I stayed at the CBR in either 1988 or 1989. I'm sorry, but for the life of me I can't remember which island we were in, but it wasn't too far from the main pool. At that time our room was done in tangerine and aqua-green, which made me think of a Howard Johnsons. The bedspreads and curtains were large tropical floral patterns, and the beds/dressers were the aqua-green color. Personally, I didn't like it at all. However, when I got the pictures developed, my mother thought the room was warm and relaxing !

It's a beautiful hotel with subtle yet wonderful coloring. Just stayed there 3 weeks again and I wish I were there now! It's a great hotel and rather quiet, which is always nice!
