'Carey Show' Retooling Effort Adds 'Titus' Alum
HOLLYWOOD (Variety) – Cynthia Watros ("Titus") will join the cast of "The Drew Carey Show" when the ABC comedy enters its eighth season this fall. Watros, whose credits include a Daytime Emmy Award-winning turn on CBS soap "The Guiding Light," will portray a new character named Alison, a recent divorcee who has har-bored a crush on Drew since they went to high school together. The cast addition is part of an overhaul de-signed to bring the show back to its roots. Among the changes announced during ABC's press tour this month was the exit of longtime cast member Christa Miller, who portrays the character Kate O'Brien. She will leave after the second episode of the coming season.
