Hey this is my first post. I am so excited.

I always use National's emerald aisle service since this allows me to go straight to a car and leave. Its really nice not having to wait in a line. Especially if you have kids. The last two times I went to Disney (November and April) I arrived at the airport at 10:00 and I was at Disney by no later than 11:00. I have never been able to do this any faster using Dollar or Alamo.

I am not sure but I know that back in November you could join National's emerald club for free if you were a Disney club member.

Seems everyone has there favorite... Let me just add to the mix Budget. I've never had a problem with them with availability and they are in the terminal wihich makes it convenient. I guess my best advice would be to choose the companies that are in the terminal to cut out the shuttle bus and then compare all the prices for the class of car you want. If you look at the different sites for the car rental places a lot of them have "Program Partners" pages that will show you the various discounts afforded to members of AAA or Visa/Mastercard/AMEX and the like.

Good luck shopping!!

I am a DVC member, and DVC members get a discount on National, so that is the only one I have used. But I suppose any of the ones in the terminal are pretty good and fast.

Having a car is great down there because I hate taking the Disney buses. I can always get where I want to go on property in 5-10 minutes and parking is free for Disney Resort guests at the parks. And if you want to (god forbid) go to Universal or Sea World, you have transportation. Cab rides will cost two days worth of rental car prices easy for a round trip.

And in closing, CONVERTIBLES RULE!

hi all and thanks for replying and voting...........

i have booked my car hire from Holiday Autos and they use Alamo which are off site so it looks like we will have to wait for their shuttle bus to go pick up the cars.....

on the plus side the keys for our villa are left on property so we won't have to spend time locating the management office.....

we'll use that time getting lost looking for the villa instead !!

if anyone else have used Holiday Autos it would be nice to hear from you.

We recently did Payless, booked from either Orbitz or Travelocity (can't remember which). They had nice low prices.

Although you need to take a shuttle from the airport, the lot isn't too far away (5 minutes).

We thought their service was stellar. Helped that we booked a standard (what was supposed to be a Ford Focus) for $186 tax and fees incl for a week, then once we got there ended up with a brand spankin' new Caravan for the same price.

Nice free upgrade! It was nice to get back and forth with lots of room. Doubly nice since I'm a regualr minivan driver as it is.

All the cars I saw on lot were new--no junkers. From what I was told, Payless is the new guy on the scene and they're trying to draw and impress new customers. I'd definately go with them again.
