A very good friend is going to WDW in just under three weeks. While she is not staying on site, she is excited to be able to have this time with her grandchildren. (Sadly, she has to take son and daughter in law too, but that is another story.....)
I went over for dinner this evening and she brought out her maps and I started telling her how I would map out her days in each of the parks. (I told her husband to remember Aloha Isle for a Dole Whip, but when it came time for the review session before the mandatory quiz, he replied, "australia, right?" ugh.)
Going through all of the different facets of what to do with the grandkids (3 days with her grandkids, 3 days with his grandkids) and trying to figure out how to maximize their enjoyment while keeping in mind that they need to focus on building the memories for the kids and not spend the entire time racing the clock to get 'everything' in.
I guess that's part of our mutual curse - we know so much about our beloved world and want to share our love and knowledge of trip planning and hope for the best.
Part of me wishes I could go along and just manage everything to ensure that the trip meets their expectations... Anyone else have the same problem - helping plan a trip for someone but they don't understand what you are talking about and you feel like you need to go along to make sure it all works out like you plan?
