Can't decide which park

So my wife and I are going to be in Orlando the weekend of August 27th. As a gift we've been given annual passes to Universal but we're thinking about taking one day and doing either Epcot or Magic Kingdom while we're there as well, probably on Saturday.

Now we were just at Disney last January and saw all 4 parks, however we did miss quite a few things at both Magic Kingdom and Epcot.

Epcot:
Test Track was down for refurbishment
No Mission Space due to sickness factor
Missed American Adventure
Missed Illuminations due to me getting sick anyhow

Magic Kingdom:
New refurbished Pirates ride
Splash Mountain was down for refurbishment last time
Missed Big Thunder Mountain

So I'm leaning more towards Epcot because I really want to see Illuminations, but I'm also considering talking the wife into coming down later on after Nemo opens for the food and wine festival so we could do it all then, and did I mention I really want to see Nemo?

So either day would be a great time for sure, I'm just not sure which route to take. So what say you fellow Disney fans?

I would suggest taking in a day at MK, so that way you can enjoy the Food and Wine Festival and the Nemo attraction in November! That's if you are really looking foward to Nemo. TT can wait, but missing 2 of 3 mountains is just crazy!

Go with Epcot as it's what YOU wish to do rather than what others think you should do. Plus it should be less busy than MK on a Saturday.

Do Epcot! It can handle larger crowds much better. MK is extremely busy on Saturdays. Remember, there are over one million people within a one hour drive.

Allow me to second the "buy a one day hopper pass" - or you could even buy bigger tickets with the no expiration option and save the days you have left for next time if you really wanted. That's bound to get expensive quickly, though, so if that's not an option for you guys, then I say...MK. Or Epcot. Wait...no...MK. :animwink: I guess my point is, you really cannot go wrong either way - since you seem to be interested in going back to Epcot soon, maybe MK is the way to go? I would also look at that website that predicts the crowd levels and see if there's going to be a marked difference in predicted attendance in case there's some big discrepancy.

Also consider which park has EMH that night. EMH can make the park unbearable towards the end of the day

This may or may not be a factor to you, but think about the whole experience of getting to the park. With MK, you can take the ferryboat or monorail on your way in and out. Not only that, but you also have the option to visit one of the monorail resorts on your way in or out.

The park hopper is a decent option, but you'll definately feel rushed since you only have one day. Obviously you won't be able to do everything you want if you take that route (especially visiting on a weekend day). If you hit MK first, then you may not get FP tickets for Soarin. If you hit Epcot first, then you will lose some park time because MK will probably be open two hours later.

Sounds like you're leaning toward MK, which sounds like a good choice considering you want to go to Epcot later to visit that Nemo fellow. Just be sure to check the EMH night schedule beforehand.

As long as you're planning to go back, don't buy a one-day hopper - they'll cost you somewher around $120 each. Invest in a multi-day park-hopper with no expiration, and the cost per day will be considerably less, and you can visit both parks (or MGM or AK).
