Can't book interconnecting rooms....

I hate disney.coms reservation system. Perhaps I am just being stupid, but how can you book 2 interconnecting rooms? 4 people don't always want to share the same bedroom. There doesn't seem to be any function to allow you to do this. Am I right?

There's not because Disney doesn't "do" interconnecting rooms. Only in certain circumstances will they guarantee connecting room, otherwise they take it as a request that may or may not be filled.

You cannot do this online. You must do it via a telephone call or through a travel agent and even then it is still not guaranteed. The key is to ask for connecting rooms as you are doing. We once said adjoining and the rooms were next to each other but did not have a connecting door.

When our kids were younger we always got interconnecting rooms
when we stayed at the Riverside--this was booked through Virgin holidays
and we always got our request--Good Luck.

Using the wdw website for making ressies is just a PITA all the way around; it's best to call your ressie in.

If not for anything else, for the fact that if you have to cancel/change an online ressie, they CANNOT apply the $ to a new one. They make you pay again, and refund your money for the original ressie seperately. If you just call in the first place, they can move your $ around any which way without the hellish hassle.

I'm all for using the web and technology when it makes things better, but ressies via the WDW website aren't better, unless you are making a strictly vanilla ressie and for-sure won't be making any changes.

Not true. I just changed my ressie's yesterday. I originally booked online two months ago. I called last week to drop the dining plan and then called yesterday to change the dates (due to registration at my school....principal said I had to be there:mad: ) Both times, they changed them with no problem. Even kept the same reservation number. They didn't have to refund or rebook anything.

Actually you can! :)

At the end of your online registration there is a place for any special requests - that is where you would request the connecting rooms. That is the same place the reservation agent on the phone would place the request.

Either way it is not guarenteed - however if 2 of the people in your rooms are children... they really try to give you the connecting rooms so mom and dad can share a room and the kids can share the connecting room. It's never guarenteed though. If you *must* have everyone near each other I would suggest a family suite at the ASM or a Deluxe room at the AKL or WL or a suite at one of the MK resorts... all of those will keep you together... but give you some space.

The WDW website books all reservations through Walt Disney Travel company - room only, package, discount, what have you, all WDTC.

The folks on the phone can book room only through "CRO" and packages through WDTC. The difference is in the cancelation policy and deposit.

If you call in and have a WDTC ressie, and try to switch to a CRO-style ressie, you'll have to cancel/refund and repay.

Hey There:

I had the same issue, I wanted 2 rooms for 6 people. I simply called the Disney reservation hotline and was taking care of promptly and correctly! They can do their best to get you into the same building -- but can't guarantee connecting rooms. A week with family in connecting rooms - that might be tought to handle!! LOL
