My wife recently got a Canon T2i. It shoot really well at night with the stock lens that came with it. Now here is my question for the photo buffs here, given this cameras shooting abilities, I'd like suggestions on some lenses. I'd like to buy her a good lens for night shooting, a macro, and a zoom lens. Now I'll be the first to admit I know NOTHING about lenses.. hence why I want help. She had a Canon XTi with a Tamron lens but after it was stolen :fork:.. yes I'm still rather ill about that one, the T2i is the replacement and I'd like to help her get some good stuff without killing our budget.

Have a look at the canon 17-55mm f2.8. It's very highly regarded amongst the canon faithful. It's a great walk-around zoom range, and has a constant 2.8 aperture, so is useful in low light situations.
