decided to finally take the leap to a digital SLR (the price of the 10D did the final convincing) and was wondering if anyone could recommend some good starter lenses... i pretty much drained the bank at the moment with:

EOS 10D, 6.3 MEGAPIXEL SLR DIGITAL CAMERA

BATTERY GRIP

BP-511 LITHIUM-ION BATTERY PACK

EF 50MM F/1.8 AUTOFOCUS LENS

once i get settled in with the new camera you better beleive a WDW trip will be in the planning (probably around october again for H A L L O W E E N )

anyhow, any tips on lenses (or CF cards) would be greatly appreciated. i've been eyeing up the EF 24-85MM f/3.5 -4.5 and the EF 15mm f/2.8 Fisheye but like i said, the bank is dry at the moment :(

I have been thinking about a 10D myself. Based on discussions on DPReview.com I was planning on getting these two lenses.

For one all around lense I was looking at the EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM. It's a little pricey but you can get the same lense without image stabilization if you have a steady hand. This covers a pretty wide range of zoom levels anf has been highly rated by a lot of the knowledgeable shooters at DPReview.

For a zoom lense I will probably go with the
Canon EF 75-300mm f/4.0-5.6 III USM. Probably not the best zoom out there (it is a pretty cheap price) but I wouldn't use the zoom near as much as the 28-135 so I would rather spend a bit more there.

As for a wide angle, it's juts not as important for me a the prices are really high unless you plan on shooting with it a lot. For as little as I would use one I just couldn't justify it.

Good luck with the new cam. I can't wait to get one myself! And post some samples.
