Candlelight Processional Dinner Package Question

My group is planning on seeing the show on Dec 12, and I've never seen the show before. So I'm wondering how necessary the dinner package will be for getting a seat to see the show (doesn't really matter to us which show time we see). Any advice would be appreciated...

The CP is a very popular show. Seating is not required to watch it (you can stand at the back or around the American Pavillion area to listen to it).

If you're wanting a seat and not doing the CP Dinner Package - you must ask yourself - how long am I prepared to stand in line and only have a slim chance of getting a seat ?

You don't mention the size of your group. While seating isn't reserved for CP Dinner Package Guests (you've still got to stand in line and find your own seats), I would be erring on the side of caution and getting the CP plan booked, especially if you want your group to sit together

Book the dinner package as soon as possible. Those with a Dinner Package get seated prior to those without a dinner package. You will enjoy the performance much more seated inside the show area and not be bothered by those passing outside the area.:xmas::xmas:

Get the dinner package! We've stood in line before and it took forever!!!!:brick: We were able to get a seat, but ever since that day we've booked the dining package. Didn't know about it before or we would've booked it. It's so worth it and you won't be disappointed! :sohappy:There are a bunch of different restaurants and tiers you can pick from also.

Hands down our favorite thing to do at WDW. We always get the dinner package. Several restaurants participate and they vary in price. I have heard people say they waited two hours in line without getting in. I don't know if that is true but I've heard that comment the last two trips. This is a terrific show . You won't be disappointed.

This year the Candlelight Dinner Package also includes pre-arranged viewing of Illuminations so you don't have to worry about missing out on getting a spot for the show!

Anyone know where this is going to be?? To fit almost three - maybe two theatres worth of folks from the American Gardens, it's going to have to be a large area?? The plaza stage area or the terraced area between UK and France??

If you get the package, you are guaranteed an excellent spot in the audience. If you just want to wait in line, you might not get seats.

so their is sill no offical word yet that the Candlelight Processional will require 2 table service credits if your on the Dining Plan?

It looks like this is no official word on the WDW website, however, call the disney reservation center and they can confirm. The package will include both the candlelight processional and pre-arranged viewing of Illuminations.

I absolutely recommend doing the dinner package for CP... The lines form so early that with out the advance seating that the package offers you would have to me in line hours prior to the event to get a seat. With the package last year, we walked up 5 minutes before the show started and were shown to our seats, with was pretty close to the stage. I have a few pictures if you like I can post them to show you where abouts you would be sitting. We ate at Coral Reef with the CP dinner package, but there are different tier seating depending on the eating establishment you choose for the package. Enjoy!!!

When I booked it the other day I was told that it was 2 TS credits regardless of which tier restaurant.

In the All Ears newsletter from this week it says that reservations begin August 29, but you were allowed to book early?

"Booking begins for Candlelight Processional dining packages, which include guaranteed seating for the holiday special Candlelight Processional at Epcot, on August 29. You can book the packages by calling 407-WDW-DINE (939-3463)."

I was looking at the different tiers on All Ears and the restaurants offered and I saw that the Coral Reef wasn't on the list. Was this a mistake or is not being offered as one of the package restaurants this year?
