Cancelled One Rescheduled another

Well thanks to Congress's inability to pass a budget and impending Government Furloughs still on the horizon for an ever changing amount of days(although each number decreases) and the loss of all overtime this FY again due to the Federal budget (usually around 6-8k between the two of us) I had to cancel our weeklong Xmas Disney trip at my beloved Boardwalk. The trip was scheduled for 6 people as my daughter would be here from college and my MIL was flying in from Washington State. We looked at many options none made sense enough to justify going with the anticipated price tag over the holiday season. We took a look at other dates that might work and settled on 11-16 September and we have secured a 2 room Villa at the Animal Kingdom Lodge Kidani Village Savannah View through the Time Share Store. It will be our first time "renting points" but so far so good as everyhting has gone according to plan. We used Cranky Concierge to find us a fantastic price on flights from RDU to MCO nonstop on SW Airlines..2 bags apiece free. Im also able to secure Disney Magical Express and Deluxe Dining Plan through the Time Share Store that we are all set. I have already booked the important Dining Reservations minus Be our Guest which we will hit for lunch one day. The only problem is that my daughter is a Division 1 athlete and wont be able to go with us as its right in season for her, I get to break the news to her tomorrow night when gets home for the summer. She loves Disney every much as I do so it will be a huge dissapointment for her. I'm looking forward to trying the Animal Kingdom Lodge as we have never stayed there, I couldnt get enough points for the Boardwalk or Beach Club during that week. The offical Disney Parks Blog noted that Friday September 13th DHS was hosting a Villians Dance Party til 1 AM as part of Limited Time Magic, but nothing offical has been announced. ( The Marathon Villians thing is a different event) if that doesnt materialize we will attend the 2nd MNSSHP as those dates hit yesteday and we will be there for it. At any rate Ill have to wait until 2014 to see my beloved Osborne Lights again

I feel your pain!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had to cut back some ADRs for the same reason! I'm happy that I'm going doing a few less ts and a few more cs as it is much better than what some people have to do because of this mess!:mad:

Doing it this way cuts the cost in half even with us flying down which will be nice. The aforementioned OT money was earmarked for that trip, we could have gone anyway but choose not to incure the debt..I'm interested to see how this plays out with the Timeshare Store and renting points..Im getting a 2 bedroom Villa Savannah view for 5 nights at 2388.00 thats over a third of my antincipated room cost over Xmas.
