Cancellation?

Has anyone had to cancel a fully paid for trip? I'm about 43 days away from my trip, and think I need to cancel. I was in a car accident in January where the other person totaled my car. It required purchasing a new vehicle, which was not at all in my plans as my car was paid off. Was Disney pretty easy to work with on cancellation?

I'm thinking of going this December, but would need to cancel this reservation not just modify/postpone.

I'm so bummed... :-(

Update: It was very easy. There's a link on the My Disney Experience page next to your reservation to cancel. When you click that, it takes you through the process and lets you know what your refund will be. I received a full refund. There was a slight glitch in the system when I made the cancellation, so I did have to call and confirm the cancellation.

You have until 30 Days out now (used to be 45) if you booked a package to cancel without penalty. So you can cancel and be fine. Sorry that happened to you and glad
Your okay! Plus if you explain what happened they probably would of waived you losing your deposit anyway. :)

Thank you! I'll call them soon since I'm getting close to that 30-day mark. I'm just so bummed. I was so excited about this. Hoping I can just look at it as a delay until December.

Your very welcome! To add December is better anyway! Lol Love the first few weeks of December
and it's our fave time to go!
But yes cancel ASAP. I would call tomorrow personally if it was me just to make sure I get that out of the way. I know you don't want to and are dreading it as I would be too. :arghh:

Don't know if updates pop up in notifications, so wanted to reply to you as well.

It was very easy. They've added a cancellation link next to your reservation on My Disney Experience. That link walks you through cancellation & tells you what your refund will be. Mine was a full refund.
