Does anyone know if you can write a check if your staying on disney property for your tickets.

The reason I am asking is someone just got ahold of my check card number and spent $500 on it so I had to cancel my check card so I will have to carry alot of cash(cannot use my atm) or would like to write a check, what a time to happen 24 hours before I leave.

any input will help.

thanks everyone

I'm very sorry someone got a hold of your debit card#:( I am a bank manager and I see a lot of that. Especially lately. I would suggest stopping by your bank or AAA and getting traveler checks. Carrying that much cash could be very bad. I know disney is the most magical place on earth, but that dosen't make it immune to bad people who want to steal your money. Traveler checks would be safer and if stolen could be replaced while still on your trip. If disney does take checks for tickets I believe they do. At least they did a few years ago. I would check their website or call them. Just to be 100% sure, but I would do traveler checks(much safer).

Have a good trip!!!! I'll be down in 13 days:sohappy: :king: Disney here I come.

I agree...Traveler's checks are the way to go. Actually that's what DH and I always travel with. The only thing I even remember reading about actual checks is that you could cash one for $25 in the parks...it's been so long since I read about it that the details are a bit fuzzy.

A small amount in cash and the balance in Travellers Cheques is the safest way to go. As you use each travellers cheque you will be given change, thus eliminating the need to cash a personal cheque.

when staying at the disney hotels, i've used personal checks to pay for tickets, or the room balance at the end. All they asked for was a driver's license and credit card. No problem. Of course, now that i think about it, they are in-state checks so that might make a difference.

Couldn't agre more. We normally take about $50.00 in cash, just to get us through the first day and then it's Travellers Checks all the way.

Sorry to here about troubles, I know it's a pain. I had my wallet stolen a few weeks ago and it was a nightmare while waiting for the replacement cards to arrive, and I was just at home. (Didn't help that the wallet in question was only 2 weeks old itself, purchased in the Magic Kingdom during our recent trip...) :(

Travelers Cheques are the best because if you lose them you do not have to wrry about it. Just call and get them replaced with no charge to you (AAA policy). If you are a AAA member I definately reccomend getting these.
