Can you still activate park tickets from a package before check in?

Hi Everyone,
In the past it was possible to activate the tickets purchased with a package a day early if you arrived before the hotel reservation. I would like to know if that is still possible in 2023. More specifically I would like to take advantage of one of my waterpark visits using a ticket with water parks and more purchased in a package, the day before I check in to my WDW resort

I don’t believe that’s allowed now with date-based tickets.

thanks, yes that is my guess as well but I am hoping someone has tried recently and can say definitively
