Can you jump on the busses outside the Hoop Dee Doo without going to the show?

I've gone to hoop dee doo a few times and notice that most times there are busses that show up after the show that take you back to your resort...

Anyway its been awhile.. do they verify if you actually went to the hoop dee doo? I may be doing the trails end buffet one night on an upcoming trip and it would be pretty cool to be able to bop back to my resort without going all the way to magic kingdom afterward.
