I don't know if anyone reads in this section but I have a problem. I am going to school for Computer Animation. and Would love to work into Disney/Pixar at some point in my life, but I am wondering how you become an imagineer in FL. Im not the biggest fan of CA, other than all the studios that are there and such, but I wonder how you become one here. I know you can because you can have the "Lunch with an Imagineer" thing so, they must exsist. I mean, would not my imagination and computer animation come into play to creat and new ride and such. I just wonder. If anyone has some input into this I would GREATLY like it. This is what I wan tto do with my life and I can't find much info on it upto date so thanks!

This site is pretty out of date, but if any one has this issue mentioend in the end of the article Id love to see it...

With the right papers they MIGHT let you in, (chances ar veeeeery slim though) but where??? That's for them to decide... They'll send you where you're needed and whereever THEY want you to go... But you'll always start in Glendale first...

i think that if you want to become an imagineer, and work hard enough, you can move up in florida. i know someone who did this...she never worked in glendale, other than going on short trips for planning.

corrus...what 'papers' are you referring to?

Every Disney site I've seen, including Imagineering internship sites, all read "All Imagineering-related positions are located in Glendale, California." With that said, I assume they have to keep a small band of them in Florida and I also assume there is a lot of traveling going on between the two states. The role itself is next to impossible to get and even when and if you get it, the percentile chance you'll be located in Florida is probably even more negligible. Nonetheless, none of us are here to doubt, but rather to dream ... soooo ... with THAT said, Disney Casting will be the key to your answers. When that time comes, they will be the one's with the open position(s) you seek. Even if someone has an answer right this moment, the answer could change when it came time for you to apply. What I mean is - when a huge amount of construction and planning is going on (i.e. Everest, Soarin construction), I would assume more Imagineers are around. But in dormant times, I would guess they are not around.

There are definitely imagineers working in Florida. There are members on these boards who have worked in Florida imagineering as recently as this year. Not sure how you get in though. Perhaps a little bird may drop some helpful info in your lap if they see this.

And regarding working for Pixar, tk421-sw, have you checked out Pixar's website? They have a wealth of information about exactly what they look for, detailed job descriptions as they come open, how to put together a demo reel for them, and more. I've been keeping an eye out myself.

Thanks everyone. Yes, the Pixar site is geat, and i hope to go an internship there during school. Well see, I still have years to come so, if anyone is smart in Disney the Animation would return here, but I sadly dout that will ever happen.
