hi guys... i been a regular reader but first time writer here! im planning a holiday next year and i was wondering which resort is the best for transport?

I was wondereing can u walk from the all-star music to movies to sports? just trying to be clever :lookaroun and thinking if i stayed at the all-start music resort i can jump on the other all-star resort bus(es) if mine was not available, and just walk up... would this be possible? i am aware that sometimes the bus goes direct and sometime it goes to all of the all-star resorts, but still better options...

or do the resort buses need a pass or something?

hopefully i can call myself a genious for thinking of such a good idea :drevil:

All of the All-Star buses run on the same system. So if you catch an All-Star Music bus, it will also have All-Star Sports and All-Star Movies on it.

The resort buses do not need a pass.

Hope this helps.

Welcome to the Boards!:D

You can definitely do that.

In fact, I do it myself, but the other way.

If I'm staying at the movies, I often just get off at the All Star Music and walk from there.

Honestly, you won't want (or need) to walk to another resort to catch the bus. They all run on the same system and all have the same amount of buses going to them. It would be pointless to walk to another All Star Resort to catch a bus (unless the bus stop there is closer to your room which is entirely possible.)

If you're staying at the Mighty Ducks part of the Movies, the Music bus stop is actually closer than the movie bus stop for example.

Stayed at AS Movies last summer and the feature pool was closed for rehab for a few days, so we had to walk over to AS Music to use the pool. To answer the question at hand, it is not very far between each of the All-Star resorts, and certainly a very walk-able distance.

one more thing

cheers guys...

one more quick question to pick your brains on...

how about pop centurys bus service? does it have its own or is it the same as the other all-starts? i am aware of the distance between them, and that its miles away!!

cos over here there aint much difference in price at our travel agents (infact cheaper to stay at pop century if there are three people!!??!!)... does that mean pop would be better cos it has its own bus service, thus more chance the bus will be empty as appose to carrying three resorts worth of passengers?

any experiences? :)

Pop Century has it's own bus routes.

My $.02...I'd rather stay at the Pop just for the fact that they have ques (?) to get everyone lined up for their specific bus. At the All Stars, there are signs but no real "line" so it makes the situation a little more aggravating since everyone thinks they can make their own line.

If you stay at All Star Movies you run the chance that the buses will be crowded because they pick people up at Sports than Music than Movies. So if you're trying to get to the Magic Kingdom in the morning when everyone else is it might be a good idea to walk to Music. Sometimes they send more buses but if it's really crowded I would walk.

many of you are saying that all the all-start resorts run on the same system but thats not true at all. I thought that but i experienced something different this weekedn. i was waiting at the pleasure island bus stop and a bus came up that said all star movies. I got on the bus figuring that it would go to all my resort also(all star sports). but it didnt and it went right on passed and went to all star movies. we asked the busdriver and he said that it just went to all star movies. it was alright but it seemed like a long walk.

I would stay at Pop Century because, as others have said, it has it's own bus system and doesn't share the a bus route with others like the All Star Resorts will do. Not only does this help at the hotel, but also at the theme park bus stops as well (though this may have changed. I didn't check last time I was there). Plus, of the resorts, it's the newest one so it also has that going for it. Also, got2lovedisney brings up a good point. At the All-Stars, there is a just a posted sign for each stop so there isn't a clear way to line up. That problem is fixed at Pop Century with a zig-zag queue line.

Also, Pop Century is more centrally located on the WDW property than the All-Stars. This means shorter bus trips to the Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Downtown Disney, and I'm pretty sure Disney-MGM Studios as well unlike those from All Stars which are located towards the bottom left of the WDW property near Disney's Animal Kingdom.

Yes it's true.

What you're saying is accurate as well.

If there happen to be longer lines for 1 particular All Star Resort, they will send a bus specifically for that Resort.

However, the 3 Resorts do have the same bus for each Resort at most pickups.

Just ask anyone leaving Pleasure Island after a long night who's staying at the Movies and has to wait for the Sports and Music people to get off....:hammer:

At All-Star Movies, by the time the bus picking you up in the morning gets there, it is nearly full, likewise, the bus depating the parks just after closing fill up fast, because they are servicing the 3 resorts. You need to get in line about 15 minutes earlier than you normally would at another resort, or take the bus at a time where there is not a huge rush to get to the parks.

This is true and VERY annoying.

However, I have noticed, if there are unusally long lines in the morning (usually for Magic Kingdom) they will send a seperate bus for the Movies.

I, too, have seen the separate buses at very busy times, usually 30 minutes before and about an hour after park openings. I also recall the buses after park closing stopping at all three resorts.

There are now queues for all parks at the All-Stars (or in the process of getting them). I haven't been there other than picking up a schedule in 7 weeks.
