I need to find a decent cheap hotel that is between Universal and downtown Orlando. I won one of the free 100,000 Universal ticket as part of the Superbowl commercial and am looking for a place for 3 nights before my Disney reservation starts. I will have a car so transportation is not an issue.

look up the Caribe Royale, its the other end of international drive, but its easy access to both disney universal and all the shopping areas, plus its a nice hotel, however might be a bit out of your way

I'm planning a Universal/Disney trip in August '10 and will just stay on-site at Disney for the duration. :shrug: My thinking is to alternate days between the two over a 12-day stay and not have to deal with switching hotels. For that length of stay, I'll be choosing a value resort though! :lol:

My last 4 trips to WDW I went to Priceline, bid $50 for a 3 1/2 star near the convention center and I get the Wyndham on I-Drive and Sandlake every time. Its well worth the price.

I'm doing my next WDW trip 4/9-4/11. I went to Hotwire and found an alleged 3 1/2 star for $49 per night. I took the bait and found out its the Rosen Center. A true 4 star hotel, with rates usually in excess of $200 per night. There are great deals out there, you just have to look for them.
