Can someone fill me in on the Canada rumor?

I did try using the search feature and can find discussion about the rumored water ride in Canada, but I can't find the original discussion. That would be so cool - I always feel bad for the countries in WS that don't have a specific attraction (like Japan, Italy, etc) and especially for the CMs that work there from the country itself. I think lots of guests just walk on by and think that because there's no attraction per se there is nothing to see.

From what the source told me: "Canada – Soarin’ over California is being constructed directly behind Canada and the Imagination pavilion. Tentative plans call for a new Water Rapids ride to be built as part of the Canadian pavilion, next to the space which will be empty after Soarin’ is finished. This ride may be themed to Brother Bear, and could possibly involve a coaster track."

The proposed coaster next to the Land/Living Seas has essentially been transferred.

Jim Hill followed up on basically the same story (just the next day, in fact!), adding that the purpose was to cover up the Soarin' building from the Canada landscape.

So if the attraction is added behind the current pavilion and out of guest's view, will it get done quicker because guests would not have to be inconvienced?

So Basicilly it sounds like a Atlantis(Sea World) type water coaster that would be awesome, Atlantis is a great ride and has great themeing potential.

This sounds like an excellent idea but I think that Brother Bear should only make a cameo appearence in the ride. I think it would be better if the theme were focused on the great north. Perhaps the northern lights, yukon gold rush, rivers jammed with logs and Paul Bunyan with Babe the Blue Ox.

I have not personally seen it but pictures make it look like they need it to cover up the large presence of Soarin behind the Canadian pavilion.

Yes, but they have made trips to Canada (remember the "Wizard of Oz" style episode? Classic, I say.), which also happens to be where Terrance and Phillip live, if I'm not mistaken (haven't watched the show in quite some time). I think it'd be a great ride for the Canada pavilion. :lol:

I'm still hoping this attraction gets greenlighted. I wouldn't mind hearing the announcement during Soarin's grand opening festivities, but I doubt it'll happen.

I do feel that another attraction ride type needs to go in on the other side of the world showcase. I have to question whether it needs to be a water ride although a water/coaster combo would be nice!

This could be interesting if they could Disney-fy the Glacier/Banff/Yoho National Park experiences into a water ride.

I just hope it isn't another KRR set in the Canadian Rockies. The mention of rails i guess should be the sign that it won't be.
