So it's my sweet 16 and I REALLY want to dress up beautifully. Do you think I could wear a dress like this but red and with straps and a mid a-line neck? There aren't any sparkles on the one I got, but I maybe thought if I wore a jacket maybe it could help a bit? Or the Sweet 26 pin? Is it possible? Or would a basic homecoming dress be better?

I'd play it safe and say no. You may get away with it, but if you don't, they'll turn you back and wont allow you admittance til you change. You can also ask them yourself via chat, phone, or email on the top right corner of this link, though I don't know if they'd be more helpful than other members on this board: https://disneyworld.disney.go.com/faq/parks/dress/
Hmm. Do you think they'd allow if if it was just for birthday dinner and fireworks at Victoria And Alberts?

hey Leesalove,
Congratulations and happy sweet 16. lol, I'm going to say no and also I'm going to say, what are your plans for the parks? Your dress sounds gorgeous and I'd be worried about getting it ruined while in the parks.

Make it a 2 outfit day, find a really cute mini skirt combo or pretty short dress that you can rock with sneakers or sandals. Accessorize with a blinged out tiara then plan on sweet 16 dinner celebration and wear the dress, you could end the evening at Disney springs.

Enjoy!!

Happy birthday!

Given that quite a few people wear tank tops the bodice doesn't seem like it would be an issue. I'd be concerned with the full skirt and its dragging on the ground. Security issues aside, that pretty hem embroidery will be ruined by the end of the day and you may find it run over by a few feet and stroller wheels.

What if you went pretty and fun? There are a lot of skirts that are full to the knee and then sheer to the ground. You won't have to worry about being stopped and if the sheer is destroyed, you can simply replace it.

Thank you! I was kinda worried about that anyway lol, I love your idea! I might do that instead! (Get a cute sweet 16 shirt on etsy lol) do yout think it would be okay for Victoria and Alberts for dinner tho?

I’d caution you to not go too fancy. Security could decide that you outfit constitutes a costume and deny you entry based on that policy.

as long as it does not resemble any the princesses your okay as far as being allowed, but it will be really inconvenient and you would probably end up ruining the dress.

Like others have said - It would most likely get ruined (Getting in and out of rides and such) but perfect your dinner attire!

As someone who loves getting dressed up for the parks i love Disney bounding characters! I wore a yellow dress on my last trip as "belle". You can find some really cute dresses but also make you stand out and feel good! Look up Disney bounding on Pinterest!

Enjoy V&A and Happy Birthday!

The worst that can happen is that a little girl will think you are a princess. :) Happy birthday, enjoy your trip.
That is exactly what Disney is trying g to avoid hence why it would not be allowed in the parks. The worst that will happen is she will be denied entry into the park and then will have to make her way back to her resort in order to change and then go back wasting a lot of time.

If nothing else, they may reject you on this:

"Clothing that drags on the ground is prohibited in theme parks..."
