Hello, I'm visiting WDW in October and bought a 5-day ticket with admission to 1 park per day. 1.) I have made reservations for all 4 WDW parks and would like to use the 5th day for a water park. Can I do that and do I need to make a reservation for a water park? 2. )If not, am I able to change my ticket from a 5-day to a 4-day and purchase water park tickets separately? Thanks!
Not quite...if you bought a 5 day theme park ticket, that ticket entitles you to enter one of the 4 main theme parks across 5 days.
1. You can not use a regular theme park to enter a water park, however, you can upgrade your ticket to include water park admission. You have two options:
A. ) Go to guest services and pay to upgrade your regular theme park ticket to a 'plus' ticket. It will cost about $60 (depends on date). Adding "plus" will give you a "plus visit" for
each day of admission to your choice of: Disney's Blizzard Beach water park, NBA Experience (available for purchases after February 11, 2020) ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex, Disney's Oak Trail Golf Course, Disney’s Oak Trail Golf Course, Disney's Fantasia Gardens Miniature Golf Course, and Disney's Winter Summerland Miniature Golf Course. So you would get 5 plus entitlements for the price of 1. Verify the exact pricing at guest services, because the pricing depends on your dates.
B.) Buy just a one day water park ticket for about the same price.
Unfortunately, the extra pluses will expire, but if you happen to want to do more than one extra, you would have that option (if you choose the plus.)
One really key thing to know is that if you want to add the plus, you have to do it BEFORE using up all the rest of the ticket entitlements, and within the expiration date of the ticket.
If you bought your ticket directly from WDW, you might be able to change it (to a 4 day plus) BEFORE you go to WDW. I don't know if they would let you change a 5-day to a 4-day plus, but maybe. Most often, if you bought it anywhere else, your best/only option is to modify it mid-usage. Use it at least once, and know what the upgrade price SHOULD be by pricing the difference online (Via the WDW website.)
And this is assuming you bought your ticket - more or less - this year, or at least for the dates you plan to use it. WDW doesn't usually offer any refunds on tickets, but if it is part of a WDW package then you might be able to modify the WDW package you booked.
